Alright, I've "solved" the issue of my Bungie Pro option disappearing that I mentioned a few posts back. I had said that when I chose that option to check it out, it gave an error and disappeared. This happened when the rest of the marketplace was screwed up on Tuesday, so I gathered that this option was programmed to disappear after you signed up or something, and along with the error and other problems with Live at the time, that I had hit a bug.

Turns out that according to the Halo 3 FAQ, the feature is having problems right now, so they took it down temporarily. Good to hear, I wanted the option to sign up for it.

So far and I'm only just starting act3 in Halo3 but Bioshock>>>>>Halo3 sp but that doesn't matter because I bought H3 for the MP and the multiplayer is godlike. Also I hear the h3 campaign gets better. Once I beat it on normal I'm gonna try to find some people to coop it on legendary and I'm sure it will be much more fun.

Its intense on legendary. Like the first 2 slowest levels took us like 80-90 minutes atleast.

I played the first level on coop with 1 other person on Legendary last night. took about 45 minutes just to beat that level.
So now if anyone wants to play it coop on legendary let me know. I'd like to play it with 3-4 people if possible.

Legendary isn't tough at all with 4 people. My friends and I beat it in about 6.5 hours on legendary straight through beginning to end. I personally don't think it was very hard at all. What would be impressive is someone who can beat the whole game on legendary by themselves, cause that would take some time. Definitely helps to have enemy fire spread amongst 4 people rather than all focused on you.

The original was impressive in its day because it was so smooth and clean, but artistically I found the story silly and the whole thing kind of unsatisfyingly cartoonish. H2 was just boring, and so far H3 seems more like H2 than the original. Bioshock was 1000 times more impressive and inventive IMO.

It doesn't pickup until after the first few levels. To say Bioshock is more inventive is, well, to be expected. You can't reinvent the wheel for H3 and have it still be Halo, ya know? You might try it online as well.

I will look forward to things picking up in H3. I actually liked some of the most repetitive parts of H1, because each battle was really fun - I think the gameplay tends to be more fun in the indoor sections, and I guess that's part of my objection to H3. I haven't played it online yet either, and I imagine that will be fun. I tend to get much more frustrated with using a controller for FPSs in online play than during single-player, though.

You make a good point re. Bioshock, and honestly given that game's intelligence and creativity it will be hard for H3 to match up in my mind. I am reminded of a discussion I had years ago with a very close friend regarding which was better, Half-Life or Halo. To me HL was vastly more satisfying, but he felt just the opposite. To each his own . . .

Well I have to say - the repetitive parts of H1 are found in H3. I find it much closer to H1 than H2...just has more of that classic H1 feel (to me anyway). Was nice to have some nostalgia.

In regards to HL/Halo - I never liked HL. I played through about 30 minutes and got bored sh!tless. Didn't understand the hype behind one of the "best" FPS of all time. I'm not bashing it, just wasn't my thing. (I did like Counterstrike though)

There's plenty of people here that play H3 online...so if you want some friendly's on your team, feel free to add us

I'm glad I'm not the only person who felt that way. Most people thought I was an idiot when I told them I didn't like Half Life. Just wasn't my thing, and neither was HL2.

I guess it's partly an aesthetic thing (I don't generally like sci-fi), but I always hated Q3A, and never loved the UT franchise. I played what must have been 1,000 hours of Q2 online (I particularly loved Action Quake), and probably nearly that much CS, but I actively disliked Q3A. Q3A was just annoyingly sci-fi to me, and the weapons and sound effects were just irritating (whose bright idea was it to take away the moans when you shot an opponent and replace them with that "ding-ding-ding" effect?).

I don't really understand how an adult with an interest in games could find HL boring - to me it was, at the time it was made, clearly the smartest and most interesting shooter ever made, and it is still in the top 2 or 3 (Bioshock is the only game that comes to mind that clearly surpasses it IMO).

Damn:

Halo 3 Players Online:301,371
Unique Players (Last 24 Hours):1,497,682
Matches Logged (Last 24 Hours):4,629,590
UNSC Campaign Kill Count:767,737,901

And it's not even the weekend yet. Will be interesting to see what those numbers are come Friday/Saturday. The Unique Players boggles my mind

Alright I know I'm late to the whole thing, but I just finished Halo 3. Wow. What an incredible ending. I seriously was not expecting that twist at the end. I have to say this is the best ending I've EVER seen in a game. I was seriously cheering at the end after the credits rolled.

Did you watch the ending scene after the credits?

Does turning on campaign scoring have any affect on whether or not you get all the same achievements? I'd like to get the achievement points for campaign scoring as well as beating the game on legendary all at once I also need to collect all the damn skulls.

I was reading the scoring FAQ on bungie.net, and here is a hint for everyone who wants those achievements:

All of the scoring Achievements are set just high enough where you will almost certainly not earn the achievement unless you have at least one skull turned on (and are playing on the Bungie recommended difficulty of Heroic). The easiest way to hit these score totals is to turn on one or two skulls and play the game on Heroic. In most cases, as long as you don?t die too much and you throw in some headshots and style kills, you should be well on your way to glory.

Holy crap. Finally got the game in the mail today and started playing just after 9PM. Played for a while and then checked the time and it was 11:30PM. I thought, "I got a good 30 minutes left to play." Keep playing and next thing I know it is 2 freaking AM.  That's when you know it is a good game.

I wasn't pleased at all with the ending they just tell you and thats it I didn't even really get it till my buddy told me what "supposedly" happened.

If someone could shoot me a PM I would like to ask a couple questions but I don't want to ruin it for those that read this thread and haven't played all the way through yet.

That's the story of my week, haha. Except I was up until 2:30 am on launch night and had to take a day off of work because there is no way I would have made the 1 1/2 hour commute being that tired at 5:00 am

The Office went off last night around 10:00 and I decided to play a "few" rounds of team slayer until bedtime around 11:00. 11:55 and I was still going strong.

Played a bit of MP yesterday. It feels too slow. Perhaps that's how it's always been, and I've just not played in a while. But I definitely don't like the speed you "run" at, especially in combination with the moon-jump he is capable of.

It really didn't look much better than Halo 2. The campaign did look noticeably better, but I still wasn't "wowed" by any means.

I'm not seeing this game as THAT great. I won't base that all on an hour of play, though. I'll update what I think when I play more,

I'm waiting to see all the threads of "halo 3 killed my xbox" on the bungie and xbox.com forums

My xbox had been freezing up quite frequently lately, but so far in Halo 3 it hasn't frozen up once. I was getting kind of worried.

I really want an elite 360, though. If mine dies I may be tempted to buy an elite and sell my repaired xbox to my brother cheap so he can coop halo 3 with me.

It is kinda slow. This is my first console mp fps I've played and it is a little floaty and slow. I still have much fun with it and enjoy it cuz i can kick back on my couch while I play it. I hope ut3 is faster on the 360 though.

Which maps did you play? Some of the maps are a little too big for some gametypes, which slows down the pace of the game a lot. It actually took me a day to get used to the run speed and jumping. I mostly play R6:Vegas and Halo 3 is much much different. The first day the bunnyhoppers were kicking my ass. They are getting beat down more frequently now

I played halo 2 about an hour before I started playing halo 3, and I personally think that there is a huge improvement in graphics.
I am glad they didn't try to make the MP with eye-popping graphics because the game just plays so damn smooth and that's what I care about. The entire game just "feels" right. From the menus to the gameplay, everything.

Definitely play some more, it grows on you.

Yeah, I'm still not getting the "looks just like Halo 2" comments. I've been playing Halo 2 this past week while waiting for Halo 3. Halo 3 is such a vast improvement of Halo 2 it isn't funny.
