id play with some of you more often if you 1) didnt kick me out of groups cause of my awsome 1 rating, have to play to get it up, hard to do when you kick me out all the time, 2) actually got everyone with a mic so we didnt have to play with morons

I love the guys at Bungie, they crack me up . A few Q&A's from the big article posted today:

Q: I was wondering when i get killed by melee why does my body go flying across the map........

A: Because it is awesome.

Q: whats up with the diorama video and the one with the children talking???? i saw none of that in campaign....False advertisement is heresy

A: How many mails did you send to Fanta complaining about the lack of hot Fantanas in your basement after drinking their delicious sodas?

Q: Is it true that the Flaming Head and Ninja Recon helmet is for Bungie only?

A: No idea what you?re talking about. Flaming Heads? Nonsense.

Q: What happened to instant replays you guys were talking about in one of thevidocs?

A: They?re called Saved Films, they?re chosen from the ?Switch Lobby? menu item and just out of curiosity, how did you get this far on the internets?

Q: Why can't Bungie let us click the press a thumbstick twice to talk to our team. It would resolve the d-pad issue and let us play better by keeping our fingers on the stick instead of strafing our (bleeps) right off the (bleeping) map.

A: That?s a terrible idea.

They also go on to say other interesting things. The appearance of shotty snipers in Team Slayer so often is a bug that they are fixing very soon (I've come to like shotty snipers, actually). They comment on not being able to rewind frame-by-frame in the theater for multiplayer, and they comment also on not being able to rewind at all in theater for single player. It's worth a read through.

Ditto. All I played the last year and a half in Halo 2 was snipers (when it became an available option anyway). Love the mode, can't get enough of it.

IDK i have 4 peopel on my friends list, 3 of them are from AT so its one of them i cant remember who, i dont think its him its whoever is in the party wit him or some crap

i don't understand the voice chat in this game man. I must be dumb but half the time i push the dpad it doesn't work. It isn't the mic cuz it works fine for all other games.

In 4vs4 team slayer games, it's open mic for your team. In bigger team games with up to 16 people, it's push-to-talk with the d-pad. The icon in the lower right above the team scores will tell you what mode it's in. If it's just an antenna, you can speak at any time and all teammates will hear you no matter where they are on the map. If it's the antenna with a little symbol of the d-pad to the left of it, it's push-to-talk. And as always, in every game, anybody within a certain proximity of your character in the game can hear you.

Not sure if that's the problem you're having, but figured I'd post it anyway.

Also, I wish they'd update the stats on bungie net. They haven't updated anything since Thursday, and I have a few games that I played yesterday and this morning that still aren't up.

Oh ok yeah thanks for the explanation. I was confused cuz sometimes it seemed push to talk and sometimes it didn't. Now I know why.

can someone explain the skill ranking? i got 1 point per win up to 10, then i have one bad match and go back to 4! i wasn't even on the bottom of the scoreboard. then i go 26-7, next best on the board is 10-7, and i don't even get a point. anyone understand the logic?

No one really understands the logic of your ranking (besides Bungie, of course). It does seem odd to fall from a 10 rank to a 4 rank after one match, unless you just got your ass handed to you by lower ranks....even then it shouldn't fall that fast.

I have a friend who also has been "wronged" by the rankings (not that it really matters in the grand scheme of things). He hasn't played much team slayer, but myself (rank 11), my brother (rank 10), and him (rank 3) played through a few matches last night. We probably won 40% of the matches we played, and he finished at the top of our team every time, yet he only moved up to rank 5 before we quit playing. We were consistently playing against an average of rank 10's all night.

Oh well, my biggest issue right now is the website not updating with stats, or updating with wrong stats. I had a few awesome games on Friday and earned some a couple of new medals, of which none have shown up at all. I played some custom games Saturday that showed up, but all ranked games I played over the weekend still haven't shown up either. There's also a game that shows I placed 6th on, but it was a custom match that was played before I joined a friend's party. I didn't even play that match, but I still came in last with 0 kills and 0 deaths somehow.

I know the stats do not really mean much, but if I'm being honest, the stats are what keep me playing. I'm a stats whore, not so much to brag (because my stats do not allow me to brag), but I like having my progress shown in print, and I just love cumulative stats showing my entire career. If this game didn't have the integrated stats system that you can view online, I seriously would not play it nearly as much.

I know I tried playing some games with you where I *thought* you dropped while in the lobby. For what its worth I've never kicked you or anybody. Rank is irrelevant. I've gotten my ass handed to me by levels 1's, 2's, 3's....

Same here, it hasn't updated my stats since 12am on the 7th. And I got an Extermination medal last night (really lucked out on that one) and I'd love it to show up.

for those who said halo3 will be 720p, its not. actually no 360 game is HD, for that matter. the resolution is.. somethinh 1130 x840 or some crazy shiot like that. also, yes vga and RGB will do hd 1080p

There was a thread last week about Halo 3 being 1138x640 instead of 1280x720. It is true and has been admitted by Bungie. They say they did it so they could use some effects that they otherwise wouldn't have been able to use. I don't know where Kermit got his info about NO 360 games being "true" 720p...

Yeah, I think the game looks fine... but I'm not a graphics whore. The only time I've noticed any graphical issues was when I was on the level with the three towers, two of which you have to deactivate and one of which is deactivated by the Arbiter. When looking at one of the tower supports from a distance, I could see some jaggies. Meh.
