Does it make you watch the opening movie every single time you start the game? How annoying. Ive tried three times, and all three times it forces me to watch it. Ive tried to hit every button, nothing skips the scene.

Also a bug I found in the game. During the part where you cross the bridge, and make the deal to help that FBI chick, you go back under the bridge. I got nailed by a grenade, and it bounced me half way thru the bridge. I couldnt go down, but could go up. So I jumped up, and I was on top of the bridge. I couldnt complete me goal then, and my restart point (saved game) was knocking down the food. Ugh!

That's weird. I don't even have to press a button, it just starts the game. No intro movie. That really sucks to sit through that every time

The tar wears off by itself over a period of time. I think its time-based either that or enemies you defeated, but it goes away after a while. As for the intro movie, no after I saved, it just shows logo of Playstation 3 & Sucker Punch then loads the saved game, no intro movie.

I've definitely noticed a few bugs here and there, mainly clipping issues like this but nowhere near as bad (other than sending an pedestrian through a wall after zapping them--they disappeared).

There was a pretty accessible bug in the demo where the train rolled around to the spot where the reapers set up a turret and a bunch of cars. If you knocked down the conduit on the lead car and drained his life, you'd go flying forward and probably get stuck in a car and die.

The only bug that bothered me was when I was looking to finish all the missions and they just dont show up. I was roaming the districts saving people and arresting bad guys for two hours before the last mission was available. I think the last 5 hours I played I was basically waiting around for 3 missions to be available.

Some missions you need to defeat random enemy spawns and read their memory to get the missions.

Yeah, but it took forever for the enemy to spawn. I must have killed every enemy in the area like 10 times, ran around the island looking for shards, came back, killed more, etc.

Are any of you guys using surround sound systems? If so, does this game seem like the rear channels are much louder than the front sound stage? Anytime I turn my back on someone or one of those TV broadcasts starts (which seem to play out of the rear channels whether you're looking at the screen or not) the sound is much louder. My speakers are calibrated with a sound meter and I don't experience this with any other games or movies.

Same thing for me.

Whew... OK. At least it's not just me. I'm a bit anal about that stuff. The audio balance in the game is annoyingly bad. Sounds from gunfire, trucks engines, etc... coming from behind me sound like they are closer than they really are. And the TV broadcasts are waaaaay too loud.

I'm just using my TV speakers but yeah, that shit is loud. The menu could definitely use a tad more customization options. For instance, I'd like to be able to adjust the brightness/gamma since the game is usually pretty dark and I'm not always playing in a dark enough room to make out all of the details. I was surprised to find that there is no such option.

Yeah at first I thought I sat on my remote and changed all my receiver settings or something. That's how noticeable and awkward it is

Heh... I very recently got some new speakers and I thought I had screwed up the calibration. So I actually had my sound meter out measuring white noise test tones.

I dont understand what all the lightning bolts are when you press R3. In the 3rd (?) level, where you find the portable HD attached to the dish on top of the building. She says to find more, press R3 to see them. But I dont think Im doing something right, because there arent any there. Im looking for "dead drops", but am confused on how to do so.

Is there a target lock button for this game like GTA? 'cause I totally suck at shooting the enemies. I've only been playing the demo and it looks great.

I believe you mean hit L3. L3 sends out a pulse so you you can see whats available on your radar. Lightning bolts are power sources, blue dots are shards, and the grey circle is dead drops. The grey points you in the general direction as it disappears.

Just play as evil and blow sh1t up. Dont have to worry about aiming.

Ahh I see. I didnt see the circle illuminate, then leaving one side to tell you where to go. Got it now..

I'm kinda confused on the karma circle thing on the top left. It's split into 6 sections. Top 3 are good, bottom 3 are bad. But then there is also a tiny arrow on that circle. What's what? Like for example, right now the first 1/3rd of my top part is full blue (Making me champion), and the 2nd part is like 1/8th blue. But then the tiny arrow on the side is pointing at, say, the 50% mark above the illuminated section. What the heck is the arrow?

Here is a Pic I don't understand what the arrow represents

I think that tells you how much your karma meter is filled. There is a power that you can purchase that uses it. Once its full, you can enable the power which gives you unlimited power for a short period of time.

Are you kidding? I predicted that about 50% of the way through the game. Granted I didn't figure it all out, but I had a pretty good hunch. That ending pissed me off though, talk about introducing a bunch of whack shit to try and tie up an awful story neatly. I have to say that I haven't been this disappointed by a game in a long time. Here were my major issues:

*** SPOILERS ***

1) Mission repetition: You do X as part of the story, then you do it again and again as side missions. There was seriously less than 10 minutes worth of thought put into these missions. Come on, there are hundreds of easy mission ideas that would introduce some variety into this game, but the developers were too freaking lazy to script anything but the same fucking things over and over and over and over again.

1 A) Side missions just suck: Disable surveillance equipment? What? I thought these guys were gang bangers with machine guns, not the fucking CIA. How does running past a bunch of satellite uplinks make enemies disappear? None of those missions made any sense.

2) Good / Evil makes ZERO freaking difference. Honestly, if you're going to try and do a choose your own adventure, at least make it matter. Half the time the dialogue doesn't make any sense for one side or the other. My buddy is playing through as evil, so I haven't seen the ending yet, but half of the game just seems out of place based on the decisions you make. Not to mention... if you're evil, then why the hell are you fighting all the gangs? Wouldn't you want them to destroy the city? Shouldn't you be helping them escape from the quarantine? If I'm good and go around murdering people, nothing happens... shouldn't that be a very bad thing to do? Seriously, WTF.

3) General story inconsistencies. There are too many to list.

4) Gameplay. Yeah, it's fun for a while, but the game doesn't give you anything compelling. There's no way to build a custom character or get special abilities. Your choices come down to, "do I want power x now or later?"

I guess I was expecting a lot more from this game after reading several reviews. All in all, I was bored with it about 25% of the way through but decided to stick it out.

PARTY POOPER!

I dont think side missions in any open world game are any good. Like babysitting friends in GTA4. Heck, Crackdown didnt even have any. I did like the surveillance and satellite missions. It was a nice break and the game left you alone to do some platforming. Storywise, yeah, those kinds of side missions didnt make much sense, but it was fun none the less.

I havent done my evil playthrough yet, so it would seem inconsistent that you still fight the gangs. Although in both cases you are fighting for control of the city, so maybe it does. My only complaint about the powers is that you get them all a little too late in the game. I would have preferred to get the shield right away.

Agreed. I also think my standards were shot because I had just finished playing Fallout 3 a few weeks earlier. While that game certainly has its issues, I enjoyed the more open-ended feel of it. The side quests also weren't so damn repetitive.

It was better than Assassins Creed.
