yep. rendered the game useless right now. get disconnected from xbox live whenever it starts to search for a game.

While it is a bit ridiculous a few hours of errors while I'm at work doesn't really negate the fact that earlier is better in this case.

Now if I get home 10 hours after the DLC was released and the problem still exists THEN I'll be upset.

Sounds good unless this update screwed the pooch (and it sounds like it did)

Well I disconnected from Xbox Live and went into Split Screen to check out the new maps. Definitely look promising. A little more Z-axis than COD4, but not crazy Z-axis like the original maps of MW2. Also a LOT less clutter everywhere. Design of the maps is very COD4-esque with slightly better graphics. They also stylized Overgrown a bit - looks pretty sweet.

Obviously haven't actually PLAYED them yet, but so far I'm happy I hope they leave the Stimulus playlist in permanently. I could see myself hanging out there forever. See ya Wasteland. Don't let the door smack you in the ass on the way out.

FWIW it looks like this was entirely Microsoft's fault. Patch wasn't released when it was supposed to and things are overloaded.

Actually, it sounds like they attempted to release it but it didn't take. They then tried to re-release it. Now it just sounds like an issue with demand hosing the servers.

Which is funny since so many people complained about the price.

The price is still a joke, but when I read between the lines of several of 402's posts, it sounded like they were going back to their "COD4 roots" of map design. After seeing them firsthand, I still think the $15 is over the top, but if it can save MW2 I'm cool with it.

Ok. I've had both patch and maps downloaded since 12:00 EST give or take. Just got into a game in the stimulus packs. Got to finish 2 complete matches and also had 2 games "time out".

Looking at the maps in the preview the design looked MUCH better (and, as mentioned, more CoD4-esque) than the current stock of MW2 maps. I can't wait to try 'em out...and Crash!

Buy 'em on Amazon and just apply the code.

Yeah, as much as I hate to defend IW of late it did sound primarily like MS' fault.

I haven't heard any word on it either. I assume it'll either extend the time it takes to change classes or prevent players from recouping M203s or something like that in the hopes of preventing "mortar teams" (which I've never really had an issue with).

I'm all over the place right now so I'm not sure. I've got Just Cause 2, Red Steel 2, and Final Fantasy XIV all from Gamefly that I need to get through and finish reviews on.

Writing about games is hard work. Especially when you've already got a full time job, wife, and kids!

If I do get them, it probably won't be until Friday. My son has a late baseball game tonight and then I've got family coming in tomorrow. I do want to get them though. Just no time.

Hmm so you cannot play TDM with these? Or are you talking about for the Double XP points only?

I think he means the new playlists they added which include only the new maps. That does sort of stink, I can handle Domination and Demolition but S&D and HQ I'm not a fan of.

It's basically just a mixed bag of all of the gametypes. Of course everyone playing them is just acting like it's all TDM, which makes it suck. Now I'd LOVE to play TDM, but I've yet to have it come up in the rotation.
