Different strokes for different folks I guess. I hate the ACOG but love the red dot. I had to complete my M4 ACOG challenge yesterday, thankfully most of it was done on Skidrow which has lots of long range fighting. The Red Dot/Holographic sights are 95% as effective at long range and 150% more effective at close range for me (compared to the ACOG) as you turn much faster.
I think its my eyesight more than anything lol. i have some not so great eyesight and play with glasses on which are probably 2+ years old prescription wise. Have trouble seeing the longer ranges. Guess im just odd. I actually probably do the same with ACOG vs without.
On a different note we have marines "gaurding" one of our boats right now and it seems like every one of the has a m16 with m203 and acog. Probably not a real acog but its small and more scope looking. wouldnt think its a rds Oo. More find it funny they all have m203's. The navy people are lucky to get a shotgun and pistol. ./end random thoughts
