I like care packages because they are all about being credit to team. A lot of people are obsessed with getting high killstreaks and high k:d ratios, but I'm content to just help my team out however I can. And like I mentioned earlier, I'm almost never able to get enough kills in a row to get to the better killstreaks, so I have a higher percentage chance of getting 4 kills and then a possible chopper gunner than I do of getting 11 kills and a guaranteed chopper gunner.
For you and Mugs:
The probability of any given item from a Care Package is as follows (according to PC code):
14.78% - UAV
14.78% - Ammo
13.04% - Counter UAV
10.43% - Sentry Gun
10.43% - Predator Missile
9.57% - Precision Airstrike
6.09% - Harrier Airstrike
6.09% - Attack Helicopter
4.35% - Pave Low
4.35% - Stealth Airstrike
2.61% - Chopper Gunner
2.61% - AC-130
0.87% - EMP
The probability of getting at least one of any item in an Emergency Drop is as follows (according to PC stats, and some statistics calculations):
Ammo: 40.0%
UAV: 40.0%
Counter-UAV: 50.2%
Sentry Gun: 50.2%
Predator: 45.3%
Precision Airstrike: 34.4%
Harrier: 18.5%
Chopper: 18.5%
Pave Low: 11.5%
Stealth Bombers: 11.5%
Chopper Gunner: 7.8%
AC-130: 7.8%
Since when is not using care packages and working on your kill ratio not being a team player? In TDM the BEST thing you can do for your team is have lots of kills and few deaths. Also, I don't think anything helps out a team like someone jumping into an AC-130 or Chopper Gunner, the likelyhood of it happening is pretty slim with care package. Don't get me wrong, it's a useful perk but (as mentioned) it doesn't add to your kill streak.
Although honestly I don't think that some of the normal kill streak rewards add to your streak. On Wasteland last night I was set up with Predator Missile, Pave Low, and Chopper Gunner. I got my 9 kills and put my Pave Low in the air and it got maybe 6 kills and it never gave me my Chopper Gunner. I ran around and shot 2 more guys myself and it gave it to me, I was sorely confused though.
Also, for you people noticing the Javelin glitch here's the deal (I had it happen for the first time to me last night but I heard how it works yesterday):
The guys pull out their Javelin, then they pull the pin on a Semtex grenade (which has no fuse). They run around and when they are killed it sets off their Javelin. It's horrifically stupid, needs to be patched (like alot of things in the game). We were playing Domination on Invasion and we went to take the central B point. Enemy ran into the middle of us and died and killed 4 of us with his Javelin, so ghey!
