i have 3 days total played so far, just hit 70 last night.

i cannot stand the ak47 for some reason, it owned in mw1.
i was able to do well with it using iron sights, but as soon as
i put the rds on it, the recoil went CRAZY, anyone else notice that?
its so much easier using iron sights.

The AK-47 sucks royally. A few people really like it but it's a large minority. It was great in CoD 4. The recoil is weird and it doesn't seem as accurate as it was in the last game.

I think it's more gametype specific than anything. I've only run into two boosters in my 4 or 5 days of playing.

Hutch from Machinima talks about using Tactical controller setup. I guess it swaps the right joystick button and the crouch button (B?). What this does is allow you to knife with B and crouch with right joy push. What do you guys think about this?

Personally, I know I am slow with melee because it's much harder to press the joystick than it is to push a button (X,Y,A,B). The reason is two fold - first the "clicky" is different and second, often times the stick is not in the neutral position, it's off to one side, and when it's at an angle it feels harder to activate too.

I would make the switch but I crouch alot and would hate having to keep clicking the joystick each time.

I switched for a few matches, and kind of like it. Like Kabob mentioned, I often run into swiping when trying to aim sometimes which leads to my death as well. However, I'm just not used to it and not really comfortable. I think I'm going to do some SP in this tact control to get used to it, and try it out in MP again.

I play mostly domination and I have not noticed this being common at all. The other day was the first time I thought it may have happened due to the person who go the nuke not appearing to be much part of the objective attempts...but that might have been something to do with him camping...I didn't see him much during the game.

I've noticed I have to change my gameplay a lot when moving between Domination and TDM...so I've stuck mostly with Domination because I enjoy it the most...but that is probably why my score is not that impressive...too many lives lost trying to capture points.

I've tried Search & Destroy and Capture the Flag. It seems like people are more interested in camping and getting kills than actually trying to move forward and get the bomb or the flag. I got devastated when I tried those two because I was playing like UT instead of camping.

You need a good team to play the objective games, otherwise it degrades into an even more-campy TDM.

What is everybody using for Perk 3? I've been playing a lot of hardcore lately and use the heartbeat sensor for it. I am always surprised at the amount of people not using Ninja. Ninja is usually my most consistent perk even in normal modes, if for the silent footsteps alone.

I run with 3 different ones, depending on game type/how others are playing. SitRep is my favorite to use, I love the loud footsteps from Pro. I have a silent class with Ninja that I'll use if there's a lot of noobs that rely on the HBS for kills, plus Ninja is on my Sniper. And I have Commando Pro on my run-around-like-a-madman knife class. I have thought about putting Steady Aim Pro on my Sniper, but I don't think the extra breath is worth the increased visibility.

I wonder if what you're seeing is actually the AK-47's idle sway? Put simply, when you put any attachment other than an ACOG scope on the AK-47, its aim will sway around even when you're perfectly still, like a sniper rifle. Apparently the effect is very minor (I don't know myself as I never unlocked any attachments for the AK before going prestige) but it is present. No other assault rifles in MW2 are affected by idle sway, which is also a departure from COD4 (where most guns did have it).

But maybe it's just the fact that the AK-47 has a lot of visual recoil. It's best to fire just 2-3 shots at a time instead of going full auto.

And Kabob, I'm with you on MTDM. It seems to be the most balanced game type if you're not in a party. Whenever I try to do objective games by myself, I end up getting raped by some big group of people all working together on the other team. Mercenary TDM is my favorite because random teams means you have a chance to play against everyone else in the room, and each round could have a totally different result instead of always winning or always losing.

nah it's not idle sway, it only recoils like crazy when firing, after the first bullet it is EVERYWHERE with the rds. when using iron sights, the recoil was not bad, even tho it does a lot of damage, it didn't feel like it. i unlocked the grenade/shotgun/silcencer/rds
and i think i'm done with the ak, there's no reason to use it. i will go back to my scar/acr that has served me well.

It's not just sway, even with no attachments it still kicks like a mule. Good damage and RoF but there are much better options out there, certainly not a good reason to skip prestiging.

I tried palying again a couple days ago and my team was trying to win-we had all three points- and the other team (this is on sub base) were all camping just trying to get kills. The game ended and we destroyed them in score, but the kill screen was ridiculous. They all had positive K/D (like 20-2) but had like 30 points to our 200. That kind of crap ruins the game.

What I usually do with my team is...2 of us would use a running class and rush B right away to capture it. We'd protect it untill we died. Once we died we change to a different class and protect A + B. Never rushing their starting Flag point.

Like others mentioned, to be successfull in Domination. You need to be playing with an actual squad.

I usually play GW with my buddies. If I'm alone, I'm usually playing ffa or mtdm

I noticed that with some guns

When I am using the MP5 I can't stand using a RDS or Holographic Sight

F2000 Iron Sights>Holographic>>>>>>>>>Red Dot (visibility is crap with RDS for this gun)

everything else though I find RDS or Holo to be preferable but the iron sights are perfectly acceptable (IE M16, M4, FAL)

The FAL's iron sights are definitely not "perfectly acceptable" in my experience. They suck! As bad as or worse than the M14's sights from COD4.

Yeah, theyre terrible. The best iron sights are those that dont have the obscuring ring that blocks your target.

The SCAR has far and away the best iron sights, to the point where its even better than using the electronic sights. The AUG is a close second. The RPD is pretty good as well, as are the iron sights on most of the SMGs.

I find almost all other AR iron sights nearly unusable since they block so much.

Just the way I run around on the map I end up with more crotch shots than head shots. I had a killing shot on Estate tonight and everyone was laughing at the killcam because I was just spraying bullets across the guy's ass.

I love the AK47, I always use it, but you're right it's completely different from COD4. I reckon it's one of the trickiest guns to use in MW2. With iron sights and FMJ it's an absolute beast.
