Yes, according to a few incensed forum posters, hackers have allegedly found a way to augment the amount of experience rewarded for killing them. Instead of the usual 50- or 100-point increments we usually see, these dubious players can punish their murderers with negative five million points, dropping their hard-earned rank back to level 1. We've contacted the folks at Infinity Ward to find out what they're doing to crack down on these total Borfs.

I can say one thing, my next console won't be a Microsoft one. If money was no object I'd switch to a PS3 right now.

MS tests the ever loving shit out of most patches to ensure the issue is truly fixed as doesn't break the game. They could do it faster probably but meh...
My bigger issue with the PS3 I see is how long it takes to update games, which is ridiculous. You'll only know the difference if you've used both the PS3 and 360, so don't claim one thing or the other... the PS3 is incredibly slow to update and that's that.

Yeah, I guess you're right. Seems like the real issue is MW2/IW having so many problems.
Maybe I'll just play some other games for a while. I have a lot of other unfinished games piled up. They're not as addictive as MW2 though!
So apparently there is a glitch going around on the consoles which is the opposite of the "instant prestige" glitch in which you got so much XP that you would instantly prestige with just one kill. This time around, you will get so much negative XP that you will instantly go back to level 1 of your current prestige.
However, @LORANT92 provided us with a little trick so you won't have to start all over - but you have to act quickly when you're dropped in a game like this. As your XP will only be updated to the IW-NET servers when you either exit the match or when the match ends, you can quickly go back to your dashboard or disconnect your network cable / wifi and the stats will not be uploaded to IW-NET.
If you dashboard/disconnect from LIVE/PSN, the stats won't count.
Meaning you won't lose XP.
If you leave the match the usual way (by selecting 'leave game'), the stats will count, so you'll be a level 1.
If you finish the match, the stats will count.
You have to dashboard/disconnect while in the game, or else the stats will count.

Perhaps he also forgot that PS3 couldn't play MP for the first week or two MW2 came out. Yah, cause that's awesome!
You are way off. It was only down for about 16 hours on the Saturday after it came out.
on the sub base, i went 25kills, 3 deaths. a 5:1 ratio. they gave me camo or something, but i pressed the button too quick and didn't catch what it was. couldn't find anything in the game. any ideas what this was?

Finally unlocked extended mags on the AUG last night. I wanted to unlock everything on at least one gun and the AUG has been a pretty easy weapon to use. I've got a silent setup (Bling Pro with silencer and red-dot, Cold-Blooded Pro, and Ninja Pro) and a loud setup (Bling Pro with FMJ and red-dot, Stopping Power Pro, and Steady Aim).
I was just spraying buildings whenever I saw a dot indicating that there was someone inside. LOL I was so ready to get the extended mag unlock over with.
