Getting rid of the leaderboards would see about 50% of their gamer base (myself included) leave the game.

You debate it? Half the people who play do so in large part because they like seeing how they stack up against the rest of the world.
Yeah the patch reduced 1887 range, but not sure by how much and not sure what else it did.
EDIT: Also fixed private match glitch.
I don't debate it. I just think it is rather silly. Giving people "numbers" to follow just makes them play for the numbers, not for the team or the game.
I think thats why they also include the "score" numbers. I've had objective rounds where i lead the team in score, but my kills:death is like 5:30, but i did work on the objectives, and we won. If you care more about that you can look at the score.
i know i personally wish i could reset my K because while learning to play i was anywhere between .30-.50, and if I could reset it now I know i'd be more like 1.3ish. It is taking me forever to get it back to 1.0 though i've worked it to .92. haha.
And see, that is exactly why its fun. I dont really care about using the numbers to compete with other people and i know that when i play the objective games it will totally whack it out, but its fun for me personally to track it and see myself improve.
As i said earlier in this thread i've never played online multiplayer like this before, so everything that goes to me improving and seeing it is a blast.

There is a work around on the Akimbo 1887's.
Word on the street is if you use the Bling Pro perk and equip the FMJ and Akimbo attachments to the model 1887, the range is the same as pre patch. They only patched it when it was akimbo, not when it was akimbo and fmj, so the fmj bypasses the patch and returns the original range.
This vid is on the PS3, but it is the same thing on the 360. Numerous posters on the IW forums have confirmed it.
I just did my last beast with Bling on. I am merely using it to unlock Bling Pro for the points, but still.
Maybe in MW3 they will make a civil war musket the most powerful weapon in the game...
