Just realized my W/L ratio is 0.83. What a joke. I can't tell you how many times I've been tossed onto the losing side of a match with < 500 points to go. I also quit matches when I have 3 bars or less or if I don't like the map (this really only applies to Wasteland and Rust).
It would be nice if you had a "grace period" in which you can quit matches without being penalized. Whether you're tossed into a match or you start it from the beginning, you should be allowed to quit without penalty so long as you have 0 kills and 0 deaths. On the flip side, you should only be awarded a W if you have made some sort of net contribution (again, at least 1 kill or 1 death).
But it's stupid that I'm penalized when I'm thrown onto the losing side of a 7400-2600 match and have 2 bars to my ping.
W/L is the most worthless stat there is. I think out of my 30 friends on my list with MW2, maybe 4 of them have a W/L greater than 1.0
My W/L is over 1.
I think it is more important that K/D ratio honestly. If I go 5-12 but my team wins, I'm ok with it. If I go the same and my team loses, I'm pissed.
Why, because the random group of people, working as individuals, that you were thrown in with did better than the random group of people, working as individuals, that you were playing against?
I think the best player on my list has only a .80 W/L
I have a problem.I'm so fixed on the AR i have right now, whenever i try another gun i never get half as many kills. My setup is:
M4A1-ACOG
Scavenger Pro
Cold Blooded
Ninja Pro
Any suggestions?

I've got 9 people that I regularly play with (and know in RL) and all of our W:L ratios are over 1.0; most of us have a 20+ win streak, one of which has a 39 winstreak. So if you want to get that W:L up, play with friends only and pub stomp them fools!
I really like the idea of tracking W/L ratio. It's like tracking points (not goals) for hockey players (+1 if you're on the ice when your team scores a goal and -1 if you're on the ice when a goal is scored against your team).
Tracked properly, I think it can be an excellent indicator of your contribution to your team. Even in TDM where the focus is on kills, I think a reliable W/L stat can be as telling as a K/D stat.
Unfortunately I don't think this game depicts a reliable W/L at all. I suppose the good news is that it will never be artificially high. If someone has a 1.5 W/L ratio, then they certain earned it and in fact their true W/L is actually a little higher. The bad news is that most people's W/L will be artificially low due to quitting matches with bad pings or being thrown into games about to end. Depending on how stubborn you are when it comes to joining "good" games (and I am one of those people and it looks like Kev is too), your W/L can get slaughtered.
My W/L is only 0.83, but I'm a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield if I do say so myself I'm typically one of the top 2 in both kills and K/D ratio, and I definitely win more than I lose. Perhaps I'm not very modest about it all, but my point is that my W/L doesn't even remotely tell the story. Being a stats junkie that bothers me.
So like I said, I think they should only award a W or a L if you made an actual (negative or positive) contribution to your team. At the very least, you should be permitted to quit a match without penalty if you exit within 15 seconds or so.
Are we sure that if you join a game JUST ending it still counts?
I only ask because there's a accolade called 'participant' or something where you go a match with 0 kills and deaths, and I should have that if the match counted as I ended w/ 0-0. I have yet to 'earn' that one though even though I should if those matches do indeed count.
I'm at the SHOT SHOW in las Vegas this week. I should have an opportunity to handle each of the weapons (launchers aside of course) from the game. Should be fun while I'm away from the game for a week. Hahaha. I might snap some pics of them too. For sure the ACR as it's my fave.
