I was playing Domination on Scrapyard - they were all bunched up by A

KD is 2.29 and rising - I have a guy on my friends list with a KD of 3 and he has over 50k kills. He plays too much

k/d is such a worthless stat. only stat meaningfull is win/lose.


I guess if you ONLY play deathmatch it meaningfull.

people disconnect due to ping
disconnect due to people in your friends group not being put in the same game (when it auto loads)
when you join and the server is a hacked server...
etc..

That's just what people with a low W/L ratio say.

My K/D is under 1, but my W/L is over 1. I'd like to think that means I sacrifice myself for the good of the team.

I ONLY play TDM...and as mentioned you have control of your KD ratio, you have very little over your win ratio unless you always play with a group you know. I've had matches where I went 6:1 kill ratio with over 30 kills and my team has still lost...

True to both. I've got a 1.60 or so win ratio (I think), and I know you can stat boost by camping all you want. I rarely have less than 15 kills in a game, usually it's 20-30 though.

For me doing well in a game is another aspect of the challenge. Trust me, fun is #1 but doing doing well/winning is part of the fun of the game for me.

I have to agree. I'm just under 1, but I can't count how many times I've been placed on the losing team in a match that was either nearly over or so completely unbalanced it was un-winnable. Those kind of games probably make up the entirety of the difference in my wins and losses.

When I first started playing this I was like a .80 or so for a while. I worked my way to 1.0, and still climbing steadily. Now at a 1.07. Next goal is 1.10.

This game is way, WAY easier than COD4 was on veteran. I beat the single player campaign on vet with barely any trouble at all.

The MP sucks compared to COD4.. half the games I try to join either have some dude with 80+ kills or it joins me on a losing team with about 30 seconds left in the game or just disconnects me completely or lags out. Special Ops is cool at least but also easy. I beat 3 stars on every Alpha mission (just started) and the only one that took me a few tries was the snow level Evasion.

Overall it's a great game but the MP sucks compared to COD4 in my opinion and the single player campaign was super short and super easy and I'm honestly not that good at this game.

I thought I knew how the winstreak was worked out, but obviously I'm wrong.

My theory was (in FFA) that if I finish in the top 3, my winstreak wouldn't end.

But I had a game last week with 2 sets of boosters, and it was one of those games where the battle was on the other side of the map, as soon as I get there it had moved elsewhere. Within 3mins the game had finished and I placed 4th. I was livid, almost seething that my winstreak had ended, but it hasn't - 1380+ and still rising!

I have no idea what's going on..

and fwiw, I had a game a couple of weeks back, where I called in my AC-130 on Wasteland, and literally within 2 seconds of opening the laptop someone had shot it down.

I didn't even get a chance to aim my sights and I was back on the ground again. It just said Player X destroyed AC-130. And he didn't bring it down with an EMP - I think it was a stinger and not a Predator.

I say this because, this guy was shooting down any air support including UAVs all evening - with stingers.

I'm probably wrong but I think the AC-130 might be vulnerable for the first few seconds it gets called in and doesn't have the time to deploy it's flares..

My win/loss ratio is an abysmal 0.49

Most of that came from my stint of playing FFA. You don't get a win unless you finish first. (or at least, that's what I thought)

man so i tried bad company 2 this morning, my thoughts. (on the pc)

- you can't strafe while sprinting? i have to use my mouse to run left or right as it won't let me strafe left or right while sprinting

- there's no crouch or sprint toggle? you have to hold the buttons down to keep crouched or sprinting?

- firing the weapons it feels like i'm hitting them with a bb gun, as it takes almost the whole clip to take someone down, i guess it could be lag tho ?

- jumping down high ledges i take no fall damage

- even with everything low, the game feels exactly the same as with everything high, it's really slow paced and seems like it takes a second for my movements/firing to register. i lowered my resolution down to 1680x1050, and then 1440x900 and no diff in performance compared to my native 1920x1200

- is there any way to get rid of the weapons bobbing? i feel like throwing up in the 30 minutes that i played earlier lol

i tried both 9.12 and 10.1 cats, no diff, no performance hit, the game just really feels sluggish

yes i know it's a beta =\


i guess i was hoping for mw1/mw2 with dedicated server and vehicles....

yep because there's no diff between console and pc version of mw2
and this is the only mw2 thread active, and bc2 is the only challenger to mw2 this year

just wanted some thoughts
