I could probably get a nuke, I've hit 25 kills in a row a few times, I've just never really thought it worth the effort.

Woot for another Alabamian (although I'm not a from here).

I have only gotten to I think 21 or so probably could have gotten higher but it was on Scrapyard random guys everywhere. lol

When I played, I was on the "nuke fix" and after I prestigued the first time, I didn't even unlock nuke until way later. It was fun for awhile, but after I got 20 or so, I stopped even using it. I ended up with Predator, Harrier, Chopping Gunner being my go to class.

The other day I ran into two guys with the same clan tag playing on opposite teams. I wouldn't have paid any attention to them except for the fact one nuked in the first game and the second one nuked in the second game. At the end of the second game, I realized that the clan buddy on the opposite team had 25+ deaths.

The next game was on wasteland, I followed the one on my team. He went to one of the houses where he put down a tactical insertion and what do you know, his buddy shows up to knife him. Tactical insertion, rinse, repeat. I spent the rest of the round griefing them before they left.

I hate these kind of players.

I finally reached 70.. I have to decide now whether or not to prestige. It sounds kinda terrible actually, I think I'd rather just level up all the guns I have instead of starting off with nothing again.

It really depends on how you play, I guess. In COD4 I was a P90 whore, so I refused to prestige. Now that the UMP is the go-to SMG, I enjoy doing prestige. You get a UMP in one of the stock classes and I'm able to slap a silencer on it pretty soon after, so it's worth it to me just to go through the leveling again. I also really like the TAR (lvl 21 I think), which is unlocked pretty early as well.

Now, if you really like the ACR or the 1887's (die) or the AK47, and leveling through the ranks doesn't really appeal to you, then don't do it.

I've never carried about the weapons though, I like starting over from scratch, it's somehow fun to me. For me it doesn't matter if the ACR/AK-47/etc are my favorite weapons, earning my way back to them, completing challenges, etc are my thang.

Then again back when I played Counter Strike I enjoyed buying only body armor and scavenger my way to better weapons.

I agree. I enjoy doing it all over again. I can use any of the smg/AR. I actually really like the m4 and mp5 which you get when you unlock custom classes. The UMP is nice as well.

Currently, I'm enjoying the silenced AK so I want to finish off the challenges before prestige again. I really hated this gun, but it's pretty deadly with a silencer equiped.

Yeah, I guess it is sort of unfair since all my favorite weapons I unlock within like 30 mins of prestiging (M4A1, SCAR-H, UMP). Between lvls 29 and 33 or so I get most of the rest of the stuff I want (Ninja, Stinger, Claymore, Danger Close) and by the time I hit 40 and get the M16 I'm happy as a pea in a pod.

Okay, I've been playing for a couple months now and it just seems to me my reload times are slower, my turning movement is slower, my melee is slower, my gun switching is slower than most other players and some guys seem to be wearing armor based on the number of times I hit them and they don't die. I am level 32 now and my longest kill streak is 5!....5!!!! WTF am I doing wrong? Why am I not getting better? GOD, I HATE SUCKING!

I have a friend who's prestiged and I think his highest killstreak is 7, don't worry.

How do you play exactly? Are you a run and gunner, sniper, mid-range assault rifle guy, etc? What weapons/perks do you use?

On another note I may have found my new favorite game type. I was awake this morning and jumped on and decided to try something so I played a few matches of Demolition, that was an absolute blast! My kill ratio and such aren't as good (because I play the game type, I don't treat every one like TDM) but I got a bunch of bomb plants and diffuses and such. I think that Cold Blooded is just about necessary as it seems that no-one uses a rocket launcher and when planting a bomb not being shot at by choppers and harriers is nice.

What kind of gun do you typically use, and what perks are you equiping?

My advice is to roll with the following4:

M4 + red dot(easiest gun to use and pretty accurate)
SPAS for secondary and cqb

Perks:

Sleight of hand (quick reload and pro gives you quick ADS(aim down site...or quicker aiming)
Stopping Power ( for increased damage as the m4 is a bit weak, but it does have a decent firing rate)
Commando (for that quick stabbing)

Try it out, and give us an update.

Mostly agree, M4 is one of the easiest weapons to use, I like it more than the laser-accurate ACR. I'll agree with your setup as well with one acception.

If he's having issues killing then Commando isn't going to help as much as some other perks. I rarely remember to knife a guy, I'll just shoot him to death. I think that Steady Aim or Ninja will help him the most, Ninja gets my vote because A) you're instantly off all the heartbeat sensors (granted, not many people use 'em) and B after 50 close range kills you have silent footsteps, this is invaluable for being...well...stealthy...or even just tactical. I can't count the number of people I've killed simply because I heard them coming.

Also, if you're lvl 32 in the near future you'll unlock Claymore, it's cheesy but very helpful for getting some easy kills. Just set it up facing a doorway and wait for the +100 to pop up (assuming it's a high traffic area). I actually played a game of TDM the other day where the enemies kept charging that center coffee house on Invasion and I kept setting up claymores, I got my first 9 kills without firing a bullet! That includes two double kills with claymores.

Finally, if you get killed by alot of aircraft don't worry about having a combat 2nd weapon, get a Stinger missile (you've unlocked it already) and take care of the aircraft. Good points and you'll live longer!

He mentioned that his melee was slow as well, so I'm thinking Commando would help with that.

I do agree, though, that steady aim is more valuable. As when you get the hang of things, it's best to pull the trigger before you even ADS. With steady aim on, this method of firing is works great.

Ninja is also great for run n gunning. As you can get sneak into enemy territory with out having them hear you or see you with if they equip the hbs. For my classes that uses ninja, though, I often equip a silencer with my weapon.

Commando won't make him melee any faster though, he still has to be quick on the button. If his goal is to survive I'd go with Ninja. It's not just for run and gun, just going at my normal pace while making no footsteps is a big deal.

Think about, say, Estate. If I know there's snipers upstairs they can hear footsteps of people coming into the house to clean 'em out pretty loudly, with Ninja Pro that advantage is gone.

I agree, the M4 is a great weapon to start with and Stopping Power will help you kill with as few bullets as possible, while you get aiming under control.

Ninja is also a great perk that I run on most of my classes, since I don't find many of the other Tier 3 perks as valuable.

I might also suggest turning up the sensitivity on your controller a couple notches. It will seem REALLY weird at first and you will suck, but when you get used to it you will have quicker aiming, "like everyone else."

Also, I would suggest not playing during peak times (evenings & late night). All the uber-geeks are on then and it can get downright frustrating.

MW2 takes practice to be good, I won't argue. Otherwise it is just irritating.

Also - if you have access to the TAR21, give it a try. It is not terribly accurate at a distance, but has good stopping power and fire rate at close range. It's even better with stopping power. I would say it trades accuracy for power, compared to the M4. I like it a lot for when I run & gun, which is most of what I do.

Ha, truer words have never been spoken. I often times have trouble sleeping and find myself playing between 2-5 AM, that's when I typically do great. During peak hours often times I'll do great and other times I'll get blasted.

You're having trouble sleeping b/c you're thinking about MW2...It's ok, I suffer from the same disease.. lol

Nah, I've had sleep issues for years. MW2 just makes me actually get out of bed instead of lying there for hours :awe:

Just for everyone else's reference, someone who goes 20+ kills with only a few deaths on a regular basis is a damn good player, so don't let Kabob's modesty fool you!

Not only that, but I've been in situations where I'm trying to hold down a room, and I'm constantly moving looking out windows, down stairs, etc. and not having audible footsteps comes in handy, it allows you to hear everything else that's going on in close proximity to you.

Well it's true. I just played today and did only so-so! Heck, my kill ratio dropped from 2.15 to 2.13 over the past few days (then again, I've been playing alot of objective games) D:

Yeah yeah yeah, that's what they all say

So I'm really liking the TAR-21. Great damage, good fire rate, and despite what the system says accuracy is pretty good. I like to run it with a silencer, FMJ or M203 depending on the map. Perks are Marathon Pro, Hardline Pro or Stopping Power Pro or (less frequently now) Lightweight Pro, and Ninja Pro.

The only downside with the TAR is that if I do get on a roll, I run out of ammo. I've got like ~25 or so out of the 50 required kills to get extended mags, that should help since I don't want to lose Marathon in order to get scavenger.

I've been trying Hardline lately and I really like it. I don't get long killstreaks, so this helps me get something beyond the UAV. Right now I'm liking the UAV & counter-UAV to warm them up. Then I'll pick an assault killstreak (usually sentry gun, Predator or Harrier) based on the level layout.

Maybe I'll get rid of the UAV soon and add another air attack to see how that works.

finally got that nuke over the weekend. I think I'm done with trying now, and will go back to working on my ac-130 emblem. Just a few more to go. I'm really enjoying the m16 and FAL. Tried going back to acr and m4 again, and they just don't feel right anymore. Feels like it takes so long to kill people with those guns now.

Also, I've been rocking dual raffica's and it is awesome. I prefer it over any of the shotties now. Even the spas. With stopping power, it's one burst kill, it holds alot of ammo and I don't have to reload too often.
