So i dont know why but i can usually spot claymores rather easily.
I don't think anyone has trouble spotting claymores...they're only a problem when you run blindly around a corner

And of course, I play late last night and got owned. It didn't help that the top 4 players were always on the other team, since I was the 5th highest scoring player I was always on the other team

i've now found something to do that just gives me delight. I'm not too good at the game and was playing this weekend. Some asshat on the other team was camped out somewhere hiding in bushes with a thermal scope. he had silencer on so he wasn't on radar. well it just so happens that i was on his team for TDM the next round. So i proceeded with my sprinting class and UNsilenced weapon to follow this camping asshole around and shooting my weapon off the entire time fucking up his killstreaks. he was pissed but i was thoroughly amused LOL

qft

Played one game before work this morning, 17-4 on Carnival with the MP5K and PP-2000. Used the PP more often than not, including several long range shots.

That's kinda dick-y... I mean, the whole point of being a sniper is to be unseen.

OH I KNOW IT IS DICKY. But I justify that by some asshat running around with akimbo shotguns or thermal scope bullshit. Either way whether i'm justified or not when those asshats hear me laughing into the mic it drives them apeshit. then when they quit i just follow them to the next lobby they join. Good times!

Agreed...snipers have their purpose, if the other team can't clear them out then they need to move in a different direction.

I'm not a fan of snipers either but it's a legitimite tactic, much less cheesy than commando knifing or danger close tubing.

Judging from you saying "you're not very good at the game" your time could probably be better spent...well...getting better at the game than messing with said sniper.

yea I'm sure it could but this is more entertaining to me. Especially when these people try to act all ghetto on me talking like they're out of a 50 cent movie or something.

I've got lots of friends I play with who "act all ghetto." It's a video game...

I'm definitely a fan of playing the game the way I want for my own enjoyment, so I can't criticize you there.

So I've got this problem. I got this new heatset, Ear Force x31. Its great. I can hear game audio through the headset etc. Problem is the mic/chat mode. If I turn my mic on, I hear everyone loud and clear, but they also hear me... non-stop. Causing echo's for everyone. Its like my mic is overly sensitive and doesn't shut off. It even does this when only using the headset, no stereo speakers, so the rest of the room is essentially silent.

So I mute the mic right? Sure... problem is it also mutes the in game chat for everyone else. So now I don't hear anyone. This sucks because I've FINALLY found a headset I like... yet one of the key features of the headset doesn't work right. Any ideas?

Hehe, yeah. I really only know one of 'em well (Daekwan), met him through the AVS boards. I play with alot of his friends though and when you get them together in a party it can be very loud. It can grind on ya after a while but can also be hillarious.

Most of the time I play with just Daekwan from that group as well as some other more mild folks and it's a good bit quieter.

Can you say Dre ....

Man when the 2 of them are in the room either cover your ears or just laugh your a$$ off (maybe its both at the same time).

But yeah it can get a little annoying sometimes. I just roll with it.

The only problems I have are with the little kids screaming into the mic. I mean its like scratching your nails on a chalk board bad. Uggh -- thank goodness for the mute capability.

Yeah, Dre is probably the most animated of the group, but he cracks me up (usually)!

Thats what i always thought too. like big red lasers sticking out how could you miss them (unless well hidden) But man the last few game si have played i have watched teammates run right into them over and over. Even after i run, stop, and back up a bit they just charge past. Worst is when the damn thing is right in the middle of the doorway and even without the "sights" you can see it and someone still runs into it.

Maybe its cause i dont have the DLC maps so i get all the noobs or something.

I have a good claymore story.

Was playing TDM on Estate, and during my sniping craze I would sit in the loft on the building with the snow mobile in it. For my protection I would always put a claymore facing the ladder.

I guess someone on the other team had the same idea as me, but my claymore got him. Now I'm of the mindset that if I'm holding down an area by my self and I take someone out I should probably move to a different spot. Before I take off running I set another claymore in the same spot.

As I'm running to cover my claymore gets the same guy again.

Turns out this guy wasn't very smart I ended up getting him I think 5 times that match, all with a claymore in the exact same spot.

I almost always put my claymores in the same spots. Derail is probably the easiest to trap people. Scavenger lets me put up a minefield.

Just had a pretty awesome round on Estate, got chopper gunner early on and destroyed the other team. Can't hide anywhere on that map.

That little alcove is great for tossing a little sticky grenade in through the south window

The secret to using Claymores effectively is to put them where someone won't see 'em, such as inside doorways facing inward so someone will walk past it and it'll kill them from behind.

Examples, the TF141 side enterance to the main building on Derailed, put it on top of the little generator thing facing towards the stairs, I bet it gets a kill 90% of the time it goes off.

Another good one is on Scrapyard. The back entrance to the B Flag building (the entrance closest to the A Flag). Just inside that door. I cannot tell you how many Claymore kills I have gotten there.

Man, I must have been in a hacked lobby or something last night. It was really weird. After I kill somone, it seems I didn't have to reload at all as I usually reload after a kill or two. If I fire and hit nothing, I have to reload. Also, when ever an enemy would get a care package it was always a chopper gunner that would appear right away and start murdering.

Very true. Smart players can take out anyone up there, the throw doesn't even need to be accurate. Unless you're on the other side (across the planks) it's pretty much a guaranteed kill. Though, the guy I was talking about, wasn't very intelligent.

Claymores in MW2 are a bit easier to avoid if you can spot them. When I first started playing I was used to BF2 claymores, that go off instantly. So I would just place them wherever and they weren't very effective because of the delay. If I want to protect a doorway, place it so it faces away from the door so it gets them after they pass through.
