Even as being host in a match last night I was having lag issues.

That's annoying but the respawning behind me for a instant payback kill drove me to the point of just turning it off last night.

Get one kill get killed repeat repeat repeat repeat repeat. Never ending cycle.

Not even fun like that.

How do you know if you are the match host in a public game?

Could the topic please change from lag already? Its apart of the game and will not go away. Learn to deal with it or stop playing.

I am still loving the maps. There are two that I wont play just because they seem to be a campers paridise. But the whole talk of how they are all the same doesnt hold any water. Yes they might all be a grid like map but each map has its own feel to it.

Uhh, how does everyone walking in circles constantly flanking, mean they don't play the same?

I've yet to find a single map that has a decent defensive position.

I feel like I'm playing some variant of a really violent Nascar game, everyone is constantly turning left.

Do a 180 and go the opposite direction, then start killing them head on.

And the maps are good enough where it isn't just running circles on the outside of the map. There are also cross sections through the middle, paths through the quartered areas, just lots of avenues so it does come down to quick reaction time and skill at aiming to drop your opposition instead of waiting for prey to stumble into your sights and just picking them off easily. Having strong defensive positions built into the map will just encourage camping.

Or maybe not everyone likes to run around like a chicken with its head cutoff? Not saying I can't play that way, but it isn't my preference. I'm thinking I may go back to BF3 for a while.

If you run around like a chicken with its head cut off, you will die a lot. Once you learn the maps and know to move intelligently, you can get a lot of flanking kills which this game seems to be promoting.

I still remember how revolutionary that valve netcode was. You could finally play a game on a 56k modem without having to lead your target by a mile. It worked under a simple principle - if you can see it, you can shoot it, regardless of your connection. That netcode was responsible for the vast majority of CS's success IMO.

The same principle still holds with cod today, even though we're well past 56k modems. It doesn't matter if you ducked behind a corner on your screen. If the delay is enough that you're still on his screen, he can shoot you. That video shows it absolutely working as intended.

... and that takes SKILL out of the game and replaces it with 'who can spot who first wins'. Hardly a fun idea, especially the way the maps in MW3 are designed.

I don't like how they aren't showing stats like captures in Domination or how many kills you confirmed or denied in Kill-Confirmed. Unless, the number of kills and deaths only increases with confirms?

No it increases with any kill, confirmed or not.

I wish they would show the # of confirmed kills too.

Let me guess - in demolition they don't use bombs set or defused?

It's funny - they producers said they wanted to emphasize team play and not just number of kills yet they only show kills and deaths in (most of) the matches.

There has already been a lot of talk to patch that into the game. I think it is very important to see who is actually helping out a team. In BLOPs I played a lot of CTF. So who cared what your KD was when you were a flag runner? And, for me, I would play a lot of defense so I usually didnt have that many kills but I would always have a crap ton of flag returns. I really hope they bring that in a hurry so the focus of people might turn from KD to playing the game right when its an objective based game.

I don't think you thought that statement through. Whats the alternative you're envisioning here?

Yeah, that was a step backwards from blops. Dunno what they were thinking. Pride I guess? Seems like they chose not to take some of the more obvious good ideas for no apparent reason.

MSR is the most deadly weapon ever. So much fun. Makes me not want to prestige. Ugh.

Still pissed I can't have hybrid scope on my sniper rifles.

Anyone experience this? Just played a game where one of the enemies was running around below the map level.

Whenever he killed me, I would watch the kill cam and he is underneath the ground (i guess like a no clipping hack) and would aim up to shoot me.

And now I'm getting some lag where the screen freezes for a few seconds at a time.

Add to that not being able to link my PSN account and this has been one horrendous MP experience so far.

Been liking that one TYP 95 assault rifle more and more. It's only burst fire but it just drops people. I've actually been able to get a drop on the quickscoping mofo's more times than not using it. Only downside is diminished stopping power at a long distance.

Took a few rounds to get the feel for it but now that I have I think I'll stick with it for a whlie.

Also my Elite status finally linked/showed up to my PSN account. Though I still cannot even get to the page to register my Founders code.

EDIT: well guess Elite isn't perfect yet. Logged into the site from my computer and while I can log in and see everything and the titles of everything is in English. When I click on anything to expand it out it's all in what looks to be German for some reason even though my location is clearly set as USA. WTF?

Yeah, I've had it go German on me too. Even the map videos were in german at times. What a catastrophe that launch was...still is...

It's becoming that little bit more functional and reliable each day, still quite a ways off.

Still quite happy with the game though. They really nailed it on the weapons. There's more variety here than even MW2, and it's waaaaay better than blops, where all the guns were basically the same. Every gun has its own personality, it's strengths and weaknesses. Not that it couldn't use a little tweaking here or there, but overall very good variety and balance.

Something I realized by happy accident yesterday....you don't need to select all three killstreaks. You can select one or two, and loop around much quicker than having to push through to 8 kills. UAV + CUAV nonstop.

I just wish I could log into Elite. I get to the screen where I put in my info, like my country and birthday, and then get an error code on the next screen. I would like to be able to use a service I paid for.
