I think I just won't prestige again. We'll see though.

If you want to have some bragging rights (ala new icons/titles) or just want to have a long-term goal of reaching the highest level possible, then by all means, definitely prestige.

If you are not interested in those items, then just keep playing w/o prestiging.

Does anyone know if those Turtle Beach MW3 headsets all have mic monitoring? Reading the descriptions on amazon, I didn't see it explicitly stated where as other Turtle Beach (non-MW3) headsets do explicitly say it has mic monitoring.

I'm pretty sure those TB MW3 headsets do have mic monitoring, but I was just curious if anyone here knows for sure.

Mic monitoring is what happens while you are talking, you can hear yourself very lowly so that you know that your voice is carrying over the line. That way you aren't shouting in to the microphone blowing out everyone's ears.

This is something you probably never notice unless you listen for it.

You know how sometimes when you have headphones or earbuds in and you try to have a conversation with someone...you tend to talk louder/shout because you can't hear your own voice.

With Microphone monitoring, as mentioned above this post, allows for you to hear your voice through your headphones so as to make yourself think you are talking in a normal environment (aka w/o headphones on)

I am really starting to get tired of people backing out right as the match is over. It happened to me three times last night. I was on the winning team and right as it is backing out to the lobby, it pops up that connection to host was lost. I cant stand that crap because I lose out on so much XP!. It seems that any challenge I did isnt complete and also the match bonus is gone. People need to suck it up and stop screwing everyone else because you lost.

It depends on the headset. Some headsets are more "sealing" around the ears than others. In those cases, it's hard to hear your own voice (it's like covering your ears with your hands and talking).

I'm currently using the Official PS3 Stereo wireless headset and it does not have microphone monitoring which is really the only drawback of the headset. I don't know why it wasn't a feature included. I just hate the feeling of trying to talk to my friends in a game and not being able to really hear my own voice.

Alright, I'm going to say it: BO > MW3. So much less bullshit.

And really, it suits my play-style better. I prefer a more tactical situation, which is what BO's map design and balance affords. Not so much with MW3...

I disagree, MW3 offers a more tactical mindset its advantages. Black Ops and MW2 were both plagued with lightweightmarathoncommando hos. Which made it broken imho. If you want tactical game play I would suggest SnD.

How tactical can MW3 be when the maps have a billion possible routes? Do you mean CAMPY?

How can it be Campy if you have all the possible routes? I have yet to be camped like I would be in both MW2 and Blops. All the maps in those two games had countless safe camping spots where there would only be one way in or out. With MW3 having so many routes in the maps you have to use tactical routes to not get owned.

I say campy because that's about the only tactic to ensure you don't get owned. Yes, some of the routes are more tactical than others, wiser choices. But through each corridor is a myriad of possible threats and there's no shortage of Striker-fiends who will run up your ass before you know it.

Just my $0.02. Between the map design, spawn system, and lag compensation, I'm a bit turned off right now. I popped Blops back in, despite having just prestiged thinking I'd get another MW3 token, and rather enjoyed it. I think the biggest difference is the maps.

The only thing I miss from MW3 at the moment is the point system.

Black Ops has Marathon and Lightweight. Commando wasn't needed because it was pretty much built in. I cannot tell you the amount of times I was stabbed from 10ft or so away.

So yes, you certainly did miss it.

The best part of MW3 is that there is no good camping spots. Every area has multiple entrance routes. I rush sometimes and sometimes I am more methodical. It's all about using the weapon that works best for you on each map. There is no one primary weapon that rules them all. I use the striker on Mission and sometimes Bootleg. On Fallen I QS. Interchange is all about the Type 95 then.

Both blops and mw3 are pretty bs-free, at least compared to WaW and MW2. WaW = mp40 and dogs of war. Mw2 is nonstop BS and insanity punctuated by the occasional satisfying gunfight.

I still think MW3 is an overall better game. There's tons of variety in terms of weapons and streaks, and it's all pretty well balanced. Blops is pretty weak in that regard. They reduced the power of explosives and steaks. Knife lunge is basically gone. Perk balance is on point. They addressed nearly every one of my complaints effectively.

I still really like blops, but mw3 is easily my favorite just for how refined the formula is.

MW3 is definitely the cream of the crop in my opinion as they balanced out quite a few things very nicely for a variety of players. Kill streaks are still there but not insanely overpowered (especially when people are encouraged to shoot stuff down to increase their kill streak). The support package is there for more novice and also for more team oriented players. Specialist is one of my favorites, really enhances your personal skill and crazy fun once you hit specialist package.

Also, MW3 is definitely the least campfest by far, bad players camp because they feel that it is the only thing they can do to defend against 'many routes'. That is the wrong mindset, aggression is key. I have flanked the enemy so many times it's great.

Black Ops wasn't fun for me, played it for like two weeks or so, got bored and sold it to Gamestop. So much more camping going on in Black Ops.

I quite enjoyed BO - but it still provided too much camping, and the knifing still seemed as bad as MW2 - but at least you had it by default. MW3 really stops the camping by providing multiple routes and/or methods to kill people. Having the grenade launcher that can explode at a set distance also helps you take some people out.

Also, to anyone who's sent me an invite to play or party recently (like 6guns last night) - I broke my "new" controller the other day so I've had to resort to using my original controller from my first elite. This thing causes me to knife randomly, and thus I rage pretty bad as it's screwed me over a few times. Thus, I'm not grouping because I've been in a terrible mood.

In MW3, I got a bunch already, just missing osprey gunner for Assault, but I don't think I even care anymore cuz the emblems are crap. Why can't they just copy and paste? Also, when are they going to fix the scoring system for Domination.

A lot of people in this thread have been complaining that the lobby leaderboard doesn't display captures or defends - but last night I saw that in the lobby leaderboard, so maybe a recent update patched it.

I HATED HATED HATED commando lunges! I hated getting knifed from a guy while I was at the top of a set of stairs and they were at the bottom. I could not stand it and it caused many many many rage quits!! I am glad its gone:thumbsup:

Haha yah. Gameplay wise, it's awesome. Here's another thing. Tag pickups in Kill Confirm should count as 1/2 a kill towards your streak. They shouldn't reward baiters that just sit and camp out tags. Just saying.
