Ok, so 45 for those 12 versus 15. But the key difference being when I get bored with the game I don't have to buy the next mappack. I guess my point is that its not as good of a deal as before and its just a way for the devs. to increase how much money they make, not really provide a 'new' service. Nothing ground breaking about elite, they just bundled everything together and named it.

Yeah, it didn't shake out to be much more than a season pass. The elite site is a mess and very poorly integrated with the game. Doesn't seem worth it if you're not a big enough fan to know for sure that you're going to buy all the maps ahead of time.

You can tell mw3 and elite are just not built from the ground up to be integrated. I think the story will be a little diff with blops 2. Once they move all the competition and video stuff directly in game, then it becomes more interesting. Anything to avoid that god awful website.

If Treyarch is doing it, I have a bit of faith (sadly) because of how well it worked with World at War. Why no one used that method is beyond me, because it's glaringly obvious that the information is being stored in a database somewhere.

No one forced you to purchase it - nobody knew the amount of content being released (mind you, you're looking at it as just map packs when it also includes expanded video & screenshot storage, new spec ops missions, game modes and some other online abilities over non-paying Elite users.) I got it with Hardened, which I got because all my previous versions of the game are Hardened.

I didn't purchase it. I was looking to go buy the maps yesterday, but I can only do it by buying elite for 50 bucks right now. I'm not going to pay 50 bucks for 2 maps now... and then hope I'm still playing this game when more maps come out. I get that there are other things being added and maybe i'm just a hater... but they aren't worth a damn to me.

Spec. Op missions, ok... maybe. Game modes... we will see if they are worth a damn. Screenshot storage? Really, Im not going to pay 50 bucks for more screenshots or expanded video. Didn't games have this stuff for free in the past anyway?

Like I said, you feel like it's not worth it for you. You are only looking at it for the maps and I quite simply stated that there's more to it than that. If you feel the only benefit you'll receive is the maps, then it's obviously not worth it for you. Trust me, you aren't missing out on much.

The commoners will be able to buy the first pack separately in march.

One prob is that they're just starting their "season" around the time the first map pack traditionally dropped. So I think there's so confusion out there, and people are also annoyed that they're missing out and can't buy piecemeal from the start.

Next go round I hope they kick off the DLC within a month, and be completely up front about what you're getting from the start instead of all this guesswork and confusion. You want people up pay, they need to know that they're paying for, not suspense.

Well, they got up front about what was included real quick once the backlash came out about having "only" 2 maps per pack when we used to get 5. They just weren't very clear from the start. I think they realize their mistake.

Still though I like the idea of a constant dribble of stuff, I just want more and faster. There should be a new map or mode every week, right up until the next game releases. I should be able to fire up the game and see something new to engage me every weekend. It's all very disconnected right now.

Ive had the maps since release date and have yet to play them yet. What sucks is that a few of my XBL friends dont have them so I guess the chance of me seeing them wont happen until the whole pack comes out.

If you're having second thoughts on getting Elite, I'd recommend not getting it.

Know what you mean. There was one instance last night where I appeared to be first, had my crosshair right at a guys head and blasted away. I got zero hit markers, and died. Killcam showed that I didn't even pull up my gun.

I randomly popped back in to see if the lag was ever fixed. I guess not. I think it's been about 1.5 months since I've played...

Same. It's just how it is, and how it's always going to be. I've always said people shouldn't hold their breath for a fix.

I generally have a better time getting a good connection when I'm playing solo, since it can match just me to a nearby host. As soon as I start joining groups with people spread out geographically on different ISPs, its lag time. If I'm in NY and my friend is in CA or TX, there's just no real solution to that problem. Just suck it up and enjoy the game.

That's the whole thing about this. What made this series such a raging success is that it's a casual/social experience. Separating people apart with this Elite system seems opposite of what has made it successful.

Honestly, I think Piazza and Liberation are great maps. I really enjoy playing them, but it sucks that I can't play it with all of my friends or they'll have to wait b/c they aren't "elite" crap is just bs.

Not having a killcam goes a really long way too.

If BF felt half as good as cod, it'd probably be something incredible. Maybe that's something respawn can make happen. Much bigger scope but feels as tight as cod....I'd be all over that.

Being that the race club for Forza has died or seems like it, would any of the fellow xboxers, not sure if that is right, want to have a night were we can set up some private matches and have some fun? In MW2 my friends and I would do them with pistols/headshots only, launchers only, ect. Had a lot of fun with out the stress of trying to win a match. Maybe for only like an hour or so.

Anyone try out the new patch? Did it get released like it was supposed to?

I played a few rounds last night and just cannot wait for the host issues to be resolved. I ALWAYS become the damn host currently because of have a really great home internet connection and it puts me at a constant disadvantage. If they really finally fix it, I will be very happy. It's really soured me to the game lately.

Nerfing the striker shotgun and the akimbo's will also be very welcomed. I cannot stand damn quick scoping bitches that also run with akimbo mini's.
