Sharks/Hawks game was amazing. End to end action. Im expecting a San Jose shit storm next game though.

Was frustrating to watch, so many great saves on scoring chances.

When the Hawks really came alive in the 2nd and they got their cycle going sharks couldn't do very much.

It was a fun game to watch in so many ways.

If I was a Shark fan, I'd be hard pressed to be disappointed in the team. Neimi stood on his head this game. Game 2 adjustments should be interesting to see.

Flyers !@

As for the days earlier game, Sharks gave a pretty hard beating to the Hawks defence. It will be interesting to see what Coach Q is going to change up for the next game, and as well as the Sharks.

They are singing a soccer song?

Canadiens fans sing it all the time. I think it'smore European than Soccer/Football related. We just hear it from Soccer/Football because that's the one European Sport we actually pay some attention to. However, I could be wrong about that.

zzzzzz missed most of the game because i was golfing..... what i saw of it was DOMINATION

Yep, who would have ever thought Halak would be pulled in the 2nd and all 6 goals would be scored by different guys. The strategy of creating chaos in front of the net is paying dividends for Philly in a big way. Also, coach said they were to shut Cammaleri the fck down and the man had 1 shot on goal. Wow.

Retarded start by Montreal.

They may very well have lost the series last night due to that embarrassment.

I turned the game off at the start of the third period when it was 4-0, then checked the final score and saw 6-0. D:

i was with friends and we were going to watch a movie after the game...at 3 - 0 we said "fuck it, this game is already over"

we had no idea.
/doesnt care who wins at this point.

Clearly you should root for Laviolette because he won your team a Cup.

One game means nothing, especially the first game. The Canucks would have swept Chicago if 1 Game mattered.

Caps sign Backstrom for 10 years, $67 million. No other duo scored more points than Backstrom/Ovechkin. Now the Caps just need to get some lockdown defensemen and cut some of the scrubs who didn't show up in the playoffs.

that is such a steal for him... $6.7 million per year makes him an attractive piece of tradebait towards the latter half of that 10-year deal... he would be a bargain at that price any time, but especially in 6-10 years when players of his calibre will be signing for 2-3 million a year more...

however this is all beside the point because he is one of the best setup men in the league and i expect him to play with Ovy for as long as possible... what a combination... the best sniper and the best setup man. wow.

Good article on Flyers/Montreal and how they matched up in game 1.
http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=529419

A snippet:
<<<Things weren't much better when Montreal gained control of the puck.

In the attacking zone, Philadelphia's towers of power on the blue line -- Chris Pronger and Braydon Coburn -- made life miserable for Montreal's fleet of smaller, skilled forwards. Pronger is 6-foot-6 and 220 pounds with a legendary and well-chronicled mean streak. Coburn, meanwhile, is 6-5 and 220 pounds of ill intent.

Just the specter of those two players appeared to cause pause among the Canadiens. Both Dominic Moore and Gionta talked about the forecheck being disjointed or a step late at times.

"Too many little dangles at the blue line instead of getting back to basics," is the way forward Mathieu Darche explained it. "We weren't doing that against Pittsburgh or Washington because we told ourselves with the firepower they've got, they'll bite us. Philly, you look at their lineup, personally I think they have as much firepower as those teams."

Even when Montreal got the puck deep, the results were not usually pretty.

"We didn't hold it down their end," Metropolit told NHL.com. "We tried to rush plays and that is what hurt us. There was no sustained pressure at all and we know we have to get back to that.

On Sunday, Gionta (5-7, 173), Michael Cammalleri (5-9, 182), Tomas Plekanec (5-11, 198) and Scott Gomez (5-11, 202) -- the team's top four scorers -- were punished almost every time they made a foray on the forecheck or tried to establish position in front of goalie Michael Leighton.
