Yeah, that sounds entirely plausible. After all, sand is quite absorbent and wet mats really are a danger?

Is that the best excuse they could come up with?

You're assuming too much :hmm:

In the end it might just be some sort of stupid thing done by a fan.

Anyone but him, . Good series by the Hawks. Although i have to say, the Sharks were always close.

Hossa cup curse continuing this year?

Series was alot closer then the record shows for sure.

And I think the Hossa Cup Curse ends this year. I don't see either the Flyers or the Habs winning out in a series. But anything can happen.

No cup this year for Heatley! That sweep couldn't have happened to a better guy. I know this is petty but Schadenfreude is sweet in this case.

As someone said on the Sportsnet forums: "The smiles on the faces of sens & oil fans can be seen on the space station, breaking news per cnn. "

Why the hate? (just curious, don't know the history)

Heatley asked for a trade because our new coach played him on the second powerplay unit and he used his no-trade-clause to nix a deal with the Oilers. He only wanted to go with the Sharks, so we got few offers and way undervalued personnel in return. Screwed both us and Edmonton.

Seeing him in the penalty box for the series-winning goal was pure WIN!

(and karma)

Now we Senators fans want Chicago to humiliate that asshole Pronger (who got away with all kinds of dirty underhanded crap while the refs looked away when we played against his team in the 2007 final). The fact that I've hated the Flyers since the early 70s is just more motivation.

Really disappointed in the Sharks. I don't know the actual numbers, but it seemed like in every game I watched their shots were wide of the net far too many times.

Nice sweep by the Hawks.

Too bad it looks like the Flyers are going to win that series...

Chicago is scary good. I don't think the sharks played that poorly (they certainly didn't play to their max though). They probably deserved better than to lose 4-0, but then again Detroit deserved better than 4-1 and thats how playoff hockey goes. They played better and we didn't get many breaks on bounces etc.

I'm disappointed in the result, but I'm not disappointed with the team. Things could have been better, but it wasn't. Oh well - such is hockey.

I feel weird saying this, but I'll likely be rooting for Chicago.

GO HAWKS!!!

And now, a moment of silence for Duncan Keith's teeth. At least they are on ice and could possibly be put back together like a puzzle? That was scary.....

A few bounces for the Sharks and the series would have been tied 2-2 IMO. I'm not disappointed either. We saw a resilient Sharks team for the first time since 2004. I'm proud of the way the team played this playoff season and it was filled with small victories at the very least.

I'm rooting for Chicago, too. Especially if they end up playing the Flyers. Beat the pulp out of Pronger please.

Well, to be fair, the 2008 team also went down 3-0 in the series against the Stars before stepping up their game. I'm referring to the fact that they could have easily just thrown in the towel when O'Reilly knocked in Boyle's clear attempt into Nabby's net. This team also beat Detroit in 5...a team that has haunted them for almost 2 decades.

Will the Cinderella series be finished tonight with the Flyers playing for the Cup? Or will Montreal win their first game on the road?

I think Flyers close it out. I just hope Chicago beats Pronger.

I agree that the series could be 2-2 right now save for a few unfortunate bounces.

I can get behind the beat up pronger

I wonder what the Sharks would have been like if they picked up Pronger when the oilers(?) were trading him. And what Anaheim would have been like with Pronger + Neids the year they won. It's weird to imagine how hugely different things would be for both teams right now.

I never would have imagined the flyers and habs would both outlast the sharks in the playoffs. I would have never picked those two fighting it for the east.
