This is an interesting idea. I think baseball does 2-3-2 which is fine with me.
And Chicago got away with murder in the last series. Seriously, the refs aren't out to get either team. Chicago has gotten away with some stuff and so has the Flyers.
And on a side note, I hate the 2-2-1-1-1 format of a 7 game series. I think it should be 2-2-2-1. First two for team with home field advantage, second two away, next two at home field, but if it goes to a seventh game I feel the team with home field advantage should lose said advantage in the final and deciding game.

I got a good chuckle out of it, and the local sports talk radio is having a field day with the story.
That being said, do you honestly think Pronger needs any more motivation? It's an elimination game, at home, in the Stanley Cup Final against a team that openly hates him. I really don't think a picture is going to affect his gameplay.

He's averaged about a penalty a game. It's pretty obvious they are calling penalties on him and he still dominated in 3 of 5 games. Buff just got his first goal last game, he's earned his pay so far.
You act like teams just throw him 34 million because he's lucky and the refs suck his cok when fact of the matter is that he's a top 5 defenseman in the NHL. He's the only player in NHL history in the Triple Gold Club (Stanley Cup/IIHL World Champ/Olympic gold) to also win an MVP. I'm sure wherever he went he won because the refs all decided not to call a penalty on him.
