Best players in the world don't usually choke 2 years in a row, he is the exception. I hope he scores tonight because it's just downright embarrassing so far.

Worst playoff stats from superstars in 7 game playoff series:

Gretzky: 2 goals and 5 assists - 1996 Blues vs Wings - 18th season
Ovechkin: 4 goals and 5 assists - 2008 Caps vs Flyers - 3rd season/1st playoffs
Hull: 3 goals and 2 assists - 1999 Stars vs Avalanche - 12th season
Messier: 2 goals and 5 assists - 1991 Oilers vs Flames - 13th season (although his 2nd season may have been worse when he had 2g and 5 assists in 10 games: 1980-81 Oilers vs Canadiens (3) + Oilers vs Islanders (7) but can't get the box score to that Islanders series)
Yzerman: 1 goal, 5 assists - 2002 Wings vs Avalanche conf final - 19th season

If the superstars above had another 7 game playoff series following their worst, they performed better which means better than Crosby. Also, most of their worst seasons weren't in their prime (i.e. early or mid-late beyond in their career).

Yeah, no show is an understatement. If he does it again he'll be labeled the ARod of the NHL - will the best player show up in the playoffs or just play when he wants to? Better pray he does *something* tonight AND they win after all the cok sucking here.

Saying that Crosby is better than Ovechkin because he won a Stanley Cup (scoring 1 goal in the entire series) is not a valid point. I couldn't say which one is better, I just think it's much closer than all of the Crosby nut huggers think.

It's kind of like the Ed Reed Troy Polamaulu debate, different players, different style of play, and different positions.

No superstar has ever scored only one goal in a 7 game playoff series except Yzerman in his 19th season and Messier when he had 11 assists. Gretzky, Hull, Lemieux, Sakic, Jagr, Ovechkin all had at least 2 goals or more in any 7 game series they've played. You don't see a problem with that statistic? One word: Underachiever.

Don't cry yet, Sid could still score a goal tonight and save some face aside from the fact he's in his prime (/cough /cough).

Ovechkin had 59 assists this year and Crosby had 58. Oops!

Ovi also played better against the Habs than Crosby has played against the Habs. Where is this huge separation between the two that you seem to think exists?
