Actually it has nothing to do with that. I could care less about the Pens and actually enjoyed watching Jagr and Super Mario play. They weren't tempermental like Crosby/Malkin and were real leaders.

Also, Pitt doesn't hold a candle to NJ or NY for Philly's rival.

They actually have a WW2 style propaganda machine going in philly against crosby to brain wash all the fans. They don't seem to realize that the more they antagonize him the better he plays. hahahha... i'm no Crosby homer. the issue at hand yesterday was Crosby v Ovechkin, i responded on how i felt, and am content to let it die. you don't have to troll me in the playoffs thread man, start a new thread if you really need to get your internet jollies about it, and i'll participate.

everyone is entitled to their opinion. i didn't feel any pimp slaps, but i don't doubt that you went back and counted the number of people that replied to me, so i'll have to take your word for it.

Ovechkin's got more talent to work with in Washington than Crosby does in Pittsburgh, yet Crosby's Penguins beat out Ovechkin in 7 games last year and this year Ovechkin couldn't even get by the #8 seed Habs in a historical loss. Then there's the World Juniors and the Olympics where Ovechkin disappeared when it counted. If you're looking for a regular season wonder that dominates Florida, Atlanta, Carolina and Tampa Bay all year long, then yep, Ovechkin's your guy.

You can throw me on a rack and stretch me out like William Wallace, but for the life of me, that will be my last utterance here on the Crosby / Ovechkin thing. It's a massive threadjack and it's going nowhere, can't we just agree to disagree?

You should know that Philly is always a hostile environment but the hate for the Pens only arrived when Crosby arrived. Before that, fans could care less about Pittsburgh. It's always the upstate rival Devils (let's face it, 2/3's of Flyer fans are from South Jersey) first and then the Rangers.

I'm really not trying to get into this again but I can't figure out why you keep bringing up the Caps/Habs series. Ovechkin played much better against the Habs than Crosby did.

With regards to the Olympics, wasn't team Canada considered the most talented team? Yet you try to discredit Ovi by saying the Caps are more talented than the Pens. You can't have it both ways.

In terms of raw talent, the russians had by far the best team. Ovechkin, Malkin, Kovalchuk, semin, gonchar, and on and on. They just couldn't figure out how to play as a team in time.

I think if they gave the olympic teams a month or two to prepare it would be a much more interesting event with much different results.

I actually wish they would get the time off from the NHL to do a real NHL style playoff with the olympic teams. That would be epic.

That's not what I meant. I meant that I don't understand why you keep bringing up a point that directly discredits your opinion. You used Ovi's play against the Habs to try and reinforce your opinion that Crosby is better than Ovi....even though Ovi played better against the Habs than Crosby played against the Habs, and it's not even close.

I think it's really strange how it all goes down. It's crazy that they're expected to play in the Olympics right in the middle of the NHL season, and they basically get no time to prepare for the Olympics. I agree, a month or two of practice with their teams would help a lot. Hockey and speed skating are the only two things that I really like about the winter olympics.

All I was trying to do was steer the thread back toward a legitimate hockey discussion by talking about the format of the olympics. You can't even have a discussion without trying to turn it into some childish argument. You come off like you're 18 and never been laid. You must feel a real sense of accomplishment.

I've got a really good troll for you, however: You claim the Caps play in a weak division during the regular season (which is true), but how do you explain the Caps beating Pittsburgh this year 4 times and 3 of 4 times last year?
