Clearly you should root for Laviolette because he won your team a Cup.

haha
i dont have a problem with Lavi, I just dont really get fired up for anyone past the hurricanes right now. Im glad Boston and Pittsburgh are out, and it was nice to see the caps get kicked off in the first round...Im pretty much enjoying the games and waiting for the pre-season signings and announcements to start.

crazzzzzyyyy night ahead... i play @ 6:30, PVRing the Habs / Philly game and hopefully zip through it before Lost starts, or PVR Lost as well and start it later than 9... 0_0

GO HABS!

That article is bang-on... that is one terrible twosome on the blueline for Philly... wow. very interested to see how tonight plays out. Another beatdown, or Halak standing on his head... they are so right too, Philly has a ton of firepower. is Carter healthy yet?

I read today that Carter skated yesterday but probably won't be back until game 6 or 7 of this series (if it goes that far). We may see Laperierre as early as tonight though...

Gah....damn these Flyers. I hate them but they've been impressive, no doubt. I'd prefer to see the Blackhawks vs the Flyers in the Stanley Cup Finals

Flyers! They were a little lucky b/c of Leighton standing on his head, 4 PP's for the Habs and no goals... wow that was heart attack central. The Habs did a good job keeping Philly from screening Halak but Gagne's goal was pure grinding and will by Philly. If Halak isn't covering he's been in deep trouble because Philly was just swarming that net down low. The Habs passed a lot better to semi-neutralize the size of Richards/Coburn/Carle but they're going to have to one time it because that's all Philly will give them with the suffocation D.

Sharks/Blackhawks, I'm going with the gritty play of Chicago but SJ always seems to show up when it matters this year.

GOD BLESS AMERICA, MY HOME SWEET HOME.

I'm not even American and i can't get that out of my head. That old lady has a very good voice, the young one, not so much.

Chicago scoooooooore! Heatley = fail on effort to jump on that loose puck.

And how did the goalie not even touch it? It was 65 ft out and no screen...

Wow, Leighton with the first back to back playoff shutout since the 2008 Final...

<<Leighton's the first Flyers' goaltender to ring up consecutive shutouts in the playoffs since Bernie Parent did it against Toronto in Games 2 and 3 of the 1975 quarterfinals. No goaltender on any team had put up back-to-back shutouts in one playoff year since Detroit's Chris Osgood blanked Pittsburgh in the first two games of the 2008 Final.>>

When I was a kid I saw her on HNiC many times. She certainly riled the Flyers fans up.

Sharks are making Nabby look bad. At least three of the goals have been the results of deflections right in front of the net. Can't really blame him for those, imo.

I think chicago oughta take out that thornton character. They are up by 3, may as well take a penalty or two going after him.

Wow.

What a game.

SJ is surely the most physically talented team in the NHL - big, fast, strong, and deep.

But when the Hawks got their game on SJ looked absolutely helpless. For long stretches of the game.

After this one I would be shocked if the Hawks don't win the cup. This looks like a team that finally knows it can beat anyone.

ESPN:
The Flyers are the first team in NHL history to win six straight playoff games following a 3-game losing streak in the same postseason. Also, they have scored a goal in every period but one during their win streak. The Flyers have outscored their opponents 24-8 during their 6-game win streak Philadelphia has scored a goal in both the 1st and 2nd periods in six straight games, and they have not allowed a second-period goal in five straight games.>>

Could this be a team of destiny like the Broad Street Bullies? Can they continue scorching the opposition? Thursday will be a big litmus test.

He is beyond dirty. That second slash on Bolland should have resulted in at least a double minor. I wouldn't have been surprised at all if he got a 10 minute major for that one. The puck never even left the ref's hand. Had it been anyone with less of a name, they would have gotten the 10 and been tossed.
What a scumbag.
