Yeah I would love to see that again. The great thing was, it was a 5 on 3 for 1:40 or so, and Hannan and Smith both broke their sticks so it was just McLaren on the ice with a stick....and Toskala of course. Great penalty kill....too bad it was ruined by Samsonov a few seconds later. Good thing Joe got his first goal of the post season 2 minutes after that to get the win.

Don't worry, I've been watching the games

I don't post here or anywhere else much anymore, I just don't have time when golf season kicks in.

Looks like my boys will be golfing too if they keep it up. God bless Roli though, keeping them in games at least.

*sigh*

Must-win tomorrow night @ Rexall. Actually, both of their home games are. If they split at Rexall then they're toast.

Enjoy!

Oilers only scored on a cheap goal when their forward sat on top of our goalie, preventing him from getting up and blocking the shot. And what a dirty hit by Edmonton's Torres :|

Oh man, I was so happy to see Michalek come back into the game. I can't believe they didn't call anything on Torres. :disgust::|

Anyways, here's a great shot from the Shark Tank that I saw on Yahoo sports.

Check out the SJ crowd behind Rollie after he gave up the goal to Joe Thornton.
That was a clean hit, sorry about your luck boys.

Quite similar to the hit on Smyth in game 1 actually.

"Keep your head up."

I dunno, Melty. Watch the replay again. You see Michalek pass the puck and you can almost count to 3 before Torres hits him. Cheap shot IMO.

I see Michalek pass the puck and not watch the F out for freight trains on skates.

Two refs on the ice didn't have a problem with it.

I didn't have a problem with the hit on Smyth either.

I'm sure he'll keep his head up for the rest of the series, as I'm sure Torres is a marked man now.

Most likely. I'm glad Michalek didn't get seriously hurt. This has been a physical series and I'm sure things are only going to get more heated as they play in Edmonton. We'll see how the series ends up soon enough.

Actually not forever. Vancouver started it with the coach holding a white towel in the air in retaliation of the horrible reffing that occured.

Towel power.

Actually the Winnpeg Jets had the "White Out" (everyone wore white & had towels) but Roger Neilsen made it famous in the 82' Cup run

fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuckin a. One bad desicion and it cost us the game. We were doing so much better, we actually showed up for this game. Siiiiiiiiiiiiiigh. Lupel with 4 ... 4!!!!! Goals!!! CRIPES! Damn it my boys from portland (Getzlaf and Penner) had very good games, two (maybe 3) assists for Penner, two of Lupels goals were to the exact same spot, high glove.

Damn though ... that was a back breaker of a finish.

I'm thinking the Ducks are relying too much on Lupul...

I'm thinking Penner might not make it back to Portland. He'll probably start next year in Anaheim if he can play like this... I bought my laminate flooring from his dad.

Actually, just chatting on MSN w/ his dad right now....

Man, I miss my Jets. The Moose are great, don't get me wrong, but it's sure not the same.

I never said forever. It's always been a tradition at the Shark Tank since they've been in the playoffs though. I'm sure it started well before the 93-94 season and that was the first time the Sharks made the playoffs.

I miss the Jets too.

...

Well, the season is on the line tonight. Everyone knows that you don't come back from 3-0. I read somewhere earlier that it was last done in 1975 by the Islanders but not too sure about that one.

This is my whacky scenario though.

Bottom line: the Oilers have to win in the Shark Tank if they expect to make it to the Conference finals.

Obviously you never know, but I think the Oil have it in them to at least split at Rexall. They could even carry momentum after a possible win tonight into Friday and knot things up. If they DON'T win both at Rexall - which is a much more likely scenario - they go back to San Jose down 3-1.

THEN you have to win that crucial first game in the Tank. THEN you get to come home to Rexall again hopefully get some more home-ice elimination-game fervour going and steal one.

Then we'd be heading back to the Tank for game 7, and everyone knows that anything can happen in game 7s.

There you go, my perfect scenario. Now all it has to do is happen

IT STARTS WITH A WIN, BOYS!!!

GO OILERS

Good luck to the Sharks tonight John. They are flying and hitting very well right now though and don't need it, but by wishing you the very BEST of luck my karma is increased +1 and hopefully will help my Oil tonight.

Good luck to your Oil too, Melty. Honestly, I can say that the Oilers are the only team that is down in the 4 remaining series that I can see come back and win it. Never count out the 8 seed. If they can do it to Detroit, they can do it to San Jose also. The Sharks fan in me is hoping for a sweep, but the reality is, I'd be really happy for a split at Rexall. If the Oil do end up coming back, that means they need to win 2 at the Shark Tank and the Sharks have yet to lose on home ice (knock on wood).

Good luck to everyone's teams tonight! Go Sharks, Sabres and Devils!

Wow this is NOT the Shark team that played the last 2 games! 2 shots on goal in the 1st??? C'mon boys. Get it together. This is a great chance to take a demanding lead in the series. Don't blow it!!

Edit: W00T! Captain Patty Marleau evens it up early in the 2nd! Marleau is UNSTOPPABLE this post season!
