People were worried about the lack of defensemen, turns out that was the least of their worries this game. Their defensive pairings played as good as, if not better, than the normal top 4 man pairs. Thoes D-kids they called up are playing great, though the transition game is a little weaker than before and that is a problem. The younger kids coming up from rochester have less experience and are less smooth on the transition, though when they do execute properly they break out with incredible speed.

Buffalo couldn't get the team offense working tonight. There was a lot of one man plays on a goalie that is coming out of the gate hot as a hornet. They just couldn't put that puck past Gerber, and some of that is attributed to their complete lack of team offensive play. There was basically no setups the entire game, just a guy streaking in or shooting at the point hoping for a rebound from a friggin puck magnet. Gerber really was the #1 star of the game tonight.

Gotta regroup and go back on the road and win.

The western finals should be good. Anaheim is backed into a corner and playing desperate. Hope this one goes to seven too.

We should see a much better effort from the Oilers tonight. I think they can take it tonight and if not I think they can definitely take it in 6.

Canes definitely outplayed the sabres in this game, coming back from a 3-1 deficit to win it in the OT. Putting in Ward was definitely a great move by laviolette.

Fear not sabres fans, they'll tie it up next game. (Hoping for a game 7 )

Canes hardly outplayed the sabres. Sabres came out lethargic in the first 5 minutes but then settled down and played a solid game. Sabres completely outworked the canes in OT and in most of the 3rd. The second was back and forth, but there is no way the canes definitely outworked the sabres. It took a bs penalty to end the game.

Laviolette's juggling of the goalies is weird. It shows absolutely no confidence in his decision of what goalie to start. It could go either way, instilling fear in the goaltenders to play their best or it can make the tenders shaky and not play their best.

The hooking calls that go along with the new rules are getting ridiculous. On both ends the teams are getting screwed with some sketchy calling. Now if you even TOUCH a man with your stick anywhere near the chest, no matter what circumstance, you get a penalty. It doesn't have anything to do with discipline, it has to do with the ref's desire to call the penalty or not.

Oh well, I'm not even going to the game, nor am I going to watch it. It will be the canes and oilers in the cup.

It's been a good run, but it's over.

The way I see it, he should never have put gerber in after a bad game. Every goaltender in the confrence finals so far had a bad game and bounced back.

Like I posted earlier: The team with the most former Canucks will win it!

Now I didn't get meticulous and check which team has the most former Canucks, but Carolina has at least 1(Brett Hedican) so I assume they'll take it. That said, Buffalo can still do it and I hope they at least force a game 7. Gotta wear out the East for the Oilers after all!

Haha, I loved that, Fran. Kaberle getting levelled, twice in a row! Buffalo is playing conservative, trying to keep it 1-0. Too many icing so far, but that energetic shift changed that a bit.
