You can continually use the first fence throughout all the fencing quests. I know this doesn't answer your question, but it makes it a lot easier as you won't be tracking new people down and the first guy sells to you from like the majority of the places he is at all day long.

The fences are usually located in the smaller, more run down pubs/inns in the towns. I've forgotten the names of my other fences too, but if you remember the cities, you should be able to find them.

EDIT: Not to give away too much, but my latest fence is actually located inside a castle, I think.

Wow. How did he do that? Did he save over your quicksave? I try to make a manual save game whenever possible because sometimes I'll hit quicksave instead of quickload and screw myself over.

Bug I think, I am the grey fox now and i still can't use the best fencer, "Father Ules" All he says is "are you looking for a fence?" but he doesn't have a trade screen. Anyways i find using my drak brotherhood muderer merchants with a current going rate of 85% selling is fine as a fence. only 300 gold though... And another thing! Where are the high value merchants??? I have some staff worth 7000 and i can't sell it anyweher for that much, anyone know of some really rich merchat?

Atronach Red Gaurd owns all in this game. (picked majors which I control leveling up= Mechantile, security, speechcraft, acrobatics, alchemy, marksman, myst) meaning 5x on attributes everytime- I stand right in the middle of like 6 mages and let them then cast away absorbing magicka@80% then cast Ice Strom three four times killing them all. Same with fighters...bring em on. Vampires too hav'nt been deseased yet. Magica pool is 350 and those little elven batteries re-charge all of it when spell casters don't!!! Lvl 15 now with Distruction 97, Blade 100, Heavy Armor 100 all minors but who cares I get 5x mulits every time. Too easy. I set difficulty at 100% and still demloishing all comers. Some items are too powerful. Like spell absorption, reflection and damage reflect. I can almost walk into a room and just stand there go get some water and everyones dead when I get back.

I am restarting as a thief. Maybe Ill let off the power gaming pedel and just stay in shadows back stabing peeps.

Fathis has a very specific time and place he'll sell at.

Figured it out. There was a path leading out in the room with the dead body on a slab that puts you pass the fallen boulders.

Geez, I have to stop going through every dungeon I find. Almost level 30 now and was getting bored. So I decided to finally go to Kvatch. Wow. My first Oblivion gate and it looks awesome, just motivated me to get back into it hard. Also, is it me or is the Daedric Claymire really puny? I mean the longsword looks longer, wider and more "I will bludgeon you to death even if I'm blunt."

I approach on lvling up my minor skills this time, by golly at lvl 6 already, my character hits at 75 speed and 70 agility alrdy. Pretty darn fast imho

Wow, you only had one save? My first game, i had like 250 seperate saves.

so, where and when?

I know he sells when he's sitting on the bench in the garden... and at the tavern in Chorral. Other than that, i'm not too sure. But all NPCs in the game have a 'life' and only do certain things at certain times, especially merchants and trainers.

Yep, love the longer reach and more damage, but compared to all the other claymores, this one doesn't "look" as powerful in terms of size. Although it does look evil...

You need to be level 10 to start the quest at nocturnals shrine, northeast of leyawiin

I got it from a friend, so I am not sure how accurate the level info is. Im trying not to read too many spoilers, but OTOH I am really sick of hunting for lockpicks

It's true that you need to be level 10 to start that quest... if you talk to her, i believe you get it recorded in your journal, but it'll say in brackets that you need to be level 10 to start the quest.

And yes, that's where it is.

AND YES! It's absolutely worth it. Personally, i think the lock chests etc are a PITA. It's supposed to be a minigame, but i hate it. I use to just buy stacks and stacks of keys and just do auto.

after i learned, i don't think i have broken more than a dozen in nearly 100 hours. . . . even the hardest 5 tumbler locks are easy after you get the pattern [and i am only on Level 10, so if i break a pick, only 1 stays up - the rest fall].

I found a way to pick locks..perty easy u might say..even on very hard locks (i'm just lvl 23 on security) lvl 6 !!!

OMG, level 30 and you finally decided to go to Kvatch...have fun after you close that first gate because its gonna be a b1tch!!!! The game's level scaling is gonna make you want to turn down the difficulty for this part, took me a very long time to get past this part at level 17 with agility at 100 and marksman at 75 or so and blade around 65. I managed to keep the difficulty bar a bit above medium.

Lots of people at the elder scrolls forum has b1tched about this particular part since they leveled up so much before doing the first parts of the main quest, which was reason why I decided to get it over with as soon as possible. Good Luck!! You can Deewwwwit!!!!
