That's the game.

You have to choose all four, so you look at what ones make them happy, and you choose those ones when the pie is the biggest... and the ones that make them sad, when the pie is the smallest... if you pay it right, you will increase your skill as well as the points.

If you play WoW for instance..

Gameworld is about the size of 1.5 continents but is much more detailed. There are no facades, all buildings have real interiors. Game length could probably be completed in the same time you could hit lvl 40 in WoW if you were in a real hurry. However, there is enough meaningful content that you could run to 60 several times without any "grind" or repetitive content at all.
Thanks for the summary in WOW terms (I'm an avid WOW'er). Sounds pretty cool, too bad it's not an MMO!

It's a vague puzzle, but you don't always have to put the largest pie to where the NPC is happy. From how I've been playing, you are trying to maximize the number in the center of the circle (disposition). If you continue to piss the NPC off, you will notice that the number goes down to 0. If you continue to make them happy, the number will rise. You keep doing it until it says their disposition is maxed.

i guess it helps so you don't makea lot of money right away, but isn't that what a thief and stealing items is all about? risk vs. reward.

in a game where they made the world as pretty realistic (for a fantasy game) as they could, i still can't believe this thing goes through.

hahah

dude why don't you actually PLAY a bit before you write them about this. You'll save much embarassment.

hahah

dude why don't you actually READ a bit more of the comments made about this game. You'll easily see that it is one of the biggest complaints. You'll save much embarrassment.

All this game did was make me want to resub to WoW. And I don't want to resub to WoW until they put in non-epic servers.

Does this game, and other RPG's, take a lot of time to play to really enjoy it? I have only played first person shooters so I have no experience with RPG's. Does it require a lot of patience to play a game like this?

So the pie sizes changes during the game? I didn't notice that I guess.

Since a demo was never released for morrowind, I wouldn't hold my breath.

No, there are only 4 different pie sizes and these are just to allow players to visualize the influence your 'talk' will have on them. The persuasion does not have to be 100% perfect for the NPC to like you.

When you click 'Start', you are starting a new round of persuasion and every round requires you to pick 4 choices of 'chatting'. Put your mouse over the 4 options and see the NPC's faces. You want to try to put the biggest yellow slice to where they are smiling and the smallest yellow slice to where they are looking pissed at you. For each 'round' you also can rotate the yellow slices clockwise once; sometimes it might help you get the most points but sometimes you don't even need to rotate at all.

I personally don't think I have got it down 100% but I can get it to the point of max disposition and the disposition is between 75-85 (don't think I've gotten higher than 85).

There is a lot more strategy than people think in that case. While it is true, you can raise it easily over time, it takes intelligence to raise of quickly and in less turns.

The first thing I do is test the waters. I used the smallest pie part and go around clock wise to determine what a person likes or hates. There is one thing they REALLY like and one thing they REALLY hate. Then one thing they slightly like and one thing they slightly hate. The idea is to find out what they hate the most and what they like the most. Then, with that you use your brains to figure out how to maximize the gains. Even easier if you have some speachcraft skill. Without speachcraft, it is still very easy.

I think the game is really cool, personally... I have spent plenty of time meeting new people and making them love me... Takes about 1 minute tops per person and my disposition is 85+ for most people.

You sell your stolen goods to fences. There is one in every city and it is part of moving up the thief chain.

Off topic, but what are these 'non-epic' servers you speak of?

Ok, after playing almost non-stop since the game came out I have to say I really love it and am having a blast. There are too many good things to say about it so instead let me list a few disappointments...

1. The stores don't actually have their goods! In Morrowind, whatever a store sold was actually inside the store. In Oblivion every store has the items they sold in a chest or container which is outside the bounds of the actually store, so basically they are completely inaccessible. So a thief is not able to steal anything a store is selling. One easy fix but a bit tedious is to just go into the editor and move all the chests back int the store. So that's not so bad.

2. The game relies heavily on adjusting itself to your level. So a store will eventually get better items as you get higher level but also the NPCs you fight and monsters you fight will actually be higher level as well. So in some respects I actually find myself avoiding levelling up because everything just gets harder, and if you dont just concentrate on like one combat skill or one magic skill when you do levle up then everything is gonna whoop your ass. Forget about levelling off of skills like speechcraft- you'll end up frustrated as the fights become way too hard. One exploit they introduced by this is now you can put all you essentially combat skills and/or magic skills as minor skills, and leave the skills you are LEAST likely to ever raise as your major skills. So now you can improve your character and making him more powerful WITHOUT levelling up and the monsters/NPCs wont level up either. <Nelson> Ha ha! </Nelson>

You don't need to do that. Just quickly scroll your cursor over the pie parts and you will see the reaction in the face. No need to do a "test" run.

In the market, there is a Commerce "shop". Go in there. The cost of a home is about 2000 gold.

Decided to get the GeForce 6800 and unlock it from 12 pipelines to 16. I don't know what that means, but my ex is going to do it for me...lol.
Hopefully it's a decent enough card to play it.
Oblivion here I come.
