Is there reason to wait and buy a more expensive home than the $2000 waterfront property? I am a puny elf assasin and cannot carry much.. I need a place to leave my junk.

Holy crap. This thread is almost 600 posts and the Mods want just 2 Oblivion threads? IMO that's just unreasonable. Who's going to sift through 700 messages? I started Oblivion and got about 5 hours in before losing my character due to a Windows reload. After reading the last page of this thread and how complex Oblivion is I'm not sure I want to play it. Seems like it requires a lot of previous RPG experience (Morrowind?) and a *lot* of time invested, especially if you're an RPG noob like me.

you don't need any previous elder scrolls game experience at all. you don't really need any rpg experience at all.
just do whatever you want really. everything is laid out pretty simple.

Imagine if there hadn't been a crackdown on the threads. Lets assume there is an average response of 4 posts in each, so you are looking at an extra 150 threads from from Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. Excessive, IMHO. I like the single thread idea. If I want to get really indepth, i'll visit elderscrolls.com

Wow, i don't have that problem at all. If anything, i'm absolutely amazed at how fast things load. It's incredible. And my HDD is a 60GB 7200rpm.

i haven't failed picking a lock - yet [even the 5 tumbler 'hard' ones] and have many dozens of lockpicks . . . is that why my security level increases so slowly . . . you actually have to break lockpicks to increase it?
:Q
i'll try that . . . i only need a couple
and i am having trouble actually buying a house . . . in Skingard - after wasting tons of time with the Ork. i was told i need more "fame".
what's an easy "starter" house?
{to store my extra 'junk' . . . will i actuall "need" a Staff of Dispel?}
I thought buying the house in bruma was pretty easy, and isn't THAT expensive I don't guess. You just have to sweet talk the countess. She even gives you a quest when you talk to her. It was 10,000 gold and I keep all my junk there. Got a goblin staff, warhammer of dispel, extra black hand robes (coolest clothes ever), etc etc. I only carry what I need so I am able to pick up as much loot as possible.
