I just kept bashing at him. Do you have an enchanted sword? It looks like the undead in this game are immune to normal weapons for the most part and are susceptible to elemental damage only.

Yes, quite a few, actually. I seem to get killed before I do 10% damage to him.

Usually ghosts are only can be damaged by elemental (like he said), silver weapons or daedric weapons too.

How do you kill Caelia Draconic without getting a bounty? I've tried killing her normally, tried getting her to eat a posion apple, tried killing her in her sleep. No matter what, I have a minimum of a 40 gold bounty.

If only I had other assassins to ask for hints.

I have not gotten to that one yet, but are you sneaking?

I just finished up the purification quest for the Dark Brotherhood. Man, that was fun

I DID IT GUYS!

And at level 13 no less. Got bored with all the guild and misc. quests and just went straight for the endgame. A little too easy though.

Despite many peoples claims to the contrary, I think this was even less balanced than Elder Scrolls 3. In morrowind, having static encounters meant I had to get stonger before I could deal with tougher quests late in the game.

But I bet I could have beaten Oblivion at level 10 if I wanted to.
Overall, really fun but short. I dont think I got my 50 bucks worth.
The side quests dont seem as important now, though the vampire that talked to me after I beat it was kind of fun.

#######################
To the gent or lady wanting help with the asassinations: Try hiding in a corner, out of view of innocents, and using a bow and arrows. Thats what I did. It worked. A paralyzing arrow is probably best.
##############################
To all the folks who keep asking about houses: I posted a full list along with prices and who to talk with. I must have said it in at least three different threads. But they keep getting locked and this one is so long that folks dont read it.

Do a search for "house" and "shortylickens". You will find it.

this game is great. look really pretty and ok smooth (never below 20 fps ) with everything that pixel shader 2 can do on and max draw distance and every single thing on high and every slider maxed out...... now here th problem it runs that well only at 640x480.

also what this about static encounter. i thought they were all leveled so that you never get one harder than you can beat.

I agree - the monster level scaling is the worst idea ever. It's easier to finish the game at level 5 than level 30. That's just plain wrong. The sense of accomplishment in needing to gain levels and strength in order to progress through the game is gone, which is a core element to all good RPGs.

You'll get to her soon enough. She's a guard, so even if you invis or sneak, she still knows where you are to arrest you. I ended up killing her with poison. Since I didn't actually kill her with a hit, my fine was 40 gold (20 to Thief's Guild).

You liked the purification quest? It was the saddest I've been in a video game since I saw Aeris die.

Finished Main quest, thieves guild, fighter's guild, mage guild, dark brotherhood, a few side/random quests. got the umbra, got the skeleton key... I know there are plenty more to do, can someone give me some suggestions on what else I should do? (besides create a new character).

Well, the skeleton key is a reward from only one of the shrines. But there are many shrines and the rewards are good. Azuras shrine gives you a special soul gem that holds anything and can be reused.

Though, honestly, there isnt much incentive to keep playing. Once you do the main quest everything else seems unimportant. And there arent any hidden, second endings. I think Bethesda wanted the side quests to be the bulk of the game. All the goodies you get are supposed to prepare you for the final battle.
I liked the system in Morrowind better. You couldnt advance in a guild until you did some quests AND had the prerequisite skills and stats. I also recall the Blades quest required you to join each guild and do at least one quest for them.

I couldn't believe how short the main quest was. Kind've disappointing

I agree,to be honest I had more fun in Morrowind then Oblivion,longer main quest ,harder side quests etc.... oh well hope Gothic 3 lives up to the previous Gothic games .

I have a little problem with a fighters guild quest.

The quest is called "Mystery at Harlun's Watch"
I had to go to the "Swampy Cave" and try to find missing people. I got in the cave and killed all the trolls.
Now it says I need to find evidence that the trolls were responsible for killing all the people. I follow the green
pointer to the exact location and it doesn't do anything. It points me to a pile of skeletons and two zombies.
Anyone know what I have to do? Thanks.

Yeah, I snuck in with the help of that bald guy, rescued the girl and brought her home safely. The next day I returned to the town and killed every single one of the evil motherfvckers. Ended up with a 4500 gold bounty for it. :roll:

If you've read the Tweak Guide for Oblivion, they say that using these settings can make it more HDR-Like, while using bloom:

fSkyBrightness=0.7000
fAlphaAddInterior=0.8500
fBlurRadius=0.0600
iNumBlurpasses=3
iBlendType=2

Anyone try them?

Not necessarily. If the 2s and 3s are going into stats that matter to your character's combat effectiveness/survival, it's all good. My char is 22 and doing fine off of 2s and 3s, in fact the critical ones for this particular build (strength, agility, endurance) are approaching max.

There's a known bug with the game. Ideally, you ought to get a message that the trolls were killing the people. You will also get a new objective to kill the trolls.

I have seen on the elderscrolls forums that the trigger does not work for some people.

Is there anything you know of that I can do? That would suck if I couldn't get past that one quest.

EDIT: I found a fix. In the console type: Setstage FGC10Swamp 40. and it brings up the trigger message
