i DID make honest selections . . . i just didn't know what to expect from this game.
You are a noob to the genre so we can cut you some slack, the guys that have been playing these games for years knew what they were getting in to. That's why I was able to create a character that could level up extremely quickly with ease- anyone who knows ES knows the basics of the systems used.
I'm a thief so I've pretty much stolen every soul gem that I could find, and now I pretty much need to buy them in order to keep up with how fast I'm using them.
Azura's Star is required for those into heavy enchanting. If you gave it up in the main quest I feel for you. I've used mine hundreds of times(I've created over a hundred enchanted items and I recharge my glass mace frequently).
Ebony blades... again, i didn't see too many magical versions, if any.
Transcendant Sigil Stone plus ebony blade makes a pretty nasty magical weapon. Not as nasty as some of the better daedric offerings, but plenty powerful enough.
huh?
For me, Azura's Star was required to complete the Main Quest. . . . Martin needs it for me to progress and get the next item? How do i NOT give it up and still complete the Quest?
Should i just do everything else first?
[and how do you use it? . . . when i tried to Capture a major Daedra, it said i didn't have a large enough Soul Gem]
That portion of the quest was poorly written. Martin needs any daedric artifact i.e. any of the gifts from the Daedric Shrines. But this is not clear in what the quest log says. The first time through the game, I made the mistake of giving him Azura's Star. I will not be doing so this time.
Well, when you give him the Azura Star, he gives you multiple opportunities to not give it to him. When i heard he said that there's only one in the world, and it would be gone forever if i gave it to him, that lit a bulb in my head that perhaps i should keep it.
