Hmm, some people are saying they are getting WM 12/15 orders shipped and arriving before Christmas. Mine hasn't moved yet but I do have the preauth on my CC.

Almost makes you wonder how much of a 'rough draft' state the game was still in toward the end of 2019. I know a few people in game development who tell me that no matter how much time you sink into modern games there's always something more to do. Not something I'd want to pursue personally but many do; I remember someone telling me some years ago that, for a time, their daily work load consisted of trying to get 20-30+ hours worth of work done per 8-10 hour shifts... for WEEKS if not MONTHS on end, with very few breaks.

Before the launch of the game people were begging for a release date (and for it not to be delayed again) and then once it dropped everyone wanted an explanation almost immediately. Now, one could argue that CDPR could have acquired additional help but given the current state of the world (and the industry) that is most likely easier said than done. Also, this developer in particular just isn't the type that outsources development assets or cut corners--so things take a long time to complete. Yes, 8 years is awhile but for a smaller company but for this scale a project you really need to step back and look at what they DID accomplish. They'll continue to work on it as promised, and are doing what they can to make things right for those who just don't want to wait.

Lot of gamers all over the web are comparing CDPR to Ubisoft for some reason, which I don't understand. The latter has offices and satellite agencies all of the world and CDPR, to my knowledge, does not. Apples and oranges as far as I'm concerned.

Except this is years in the making. Probably something like 5 years with almost no other releases. These issues didn’t pop up yesterday. A lot of the issues go down to the fundamentals of the game engine.

The comparison to Ubisoft is valid because most titles are made by one group within Ubisoft which is why each game can be different. It’s not like there are 10,000 people working on AC Valhalla for example. It’s one team.

I don't know how accurate that is... probably not 10,000 but it's likely a couple hundred vs a few dozen tops.

That doesn’t matter in the end. You release a broken game you deserve all the backlash. It was obvious that everything was just ignored and they purposely released a game that was flat out broken.

Has anyone tried PSVR on PS5?

Last night we were playing Beat Saber which was fine, but then we tried playing a demo disc. As soon as the game loaded up the move controllers turned off. Then as soon as I turned on a move controller, it took me back to the home screen. Then I'd load the game and the move controller turns off. And that kept happening.

I then tried it with Astrobot and the same behavior happened.

Then I realized that you need a controller for Astrobot and I had just sold my PS4 and the DS5 doesn't work with it cause it needs that light lol. So now I need a DS4 to play old PSVR games.

Do you realize that CDP has a bigger valuation than Ubisoft? Or at least they did before their stock tanked with CP2077's mishaps. I don't know if they still are. They have over a thousand employees.

Was able to snag one today on Best Buy. Just had to wait out the first few minutes until the Buy button refreshed.

Congrats — I suspect you'll be impressed. I still get a kick out of the SSD speeds, and it's a bit wild to think a $500 console can play some games at 4K60 (like Destiny 2) that previously required a considerably more expensive PC. For that matter, playing Miles Morales at 4K30 with ray tracing is quite satisfying.

Nice. I managed to get one in my cart which seems like the annoying part at BB. Hoping next time they come in stock I can go straight to checkout.

Wait...Walmart isn’t supposed to be selling them from the store anyway. I was told it’s online only.
If you used their app, it actually reflected stock accurately. I think the entering of a sku on their app was removed now so people cant use it anymore.

But that's how I got a series X. I walked in and even though there was nothing in the glass cases in the shelves, I told them the app said they had stock.

At which the guy checked with who was working with him at the time and asks if he could sell it. They allowed it and I got lucky because after me there were 2 other guys there found out from the app as well.

My sister tried the same thing for a ps5 at a different Walmart and they were very rude to her. So it depends who's working.

I saw something like this when i worked at BB way back in 1996 during the holidays. They ran out of the original Playstation and only had one unit left but sold two of them. The two women got into a physical altercation. Its amazing how much their lives are at in going all caveperson on one another

Because they released a game they knew was broken and unplayable on PS4/XB1 and hid it until launch day when tons of people had already bought it, unwrapped / downloaded it, and wouldn't be eligible to return it. It is one of the sleaziest things I have ever seen a video game company do in the last 40 years. They absolutely deserve to be compared to EA and Ubisoft because they pulled the exact same crap those two companies are known for. They tried to con console buyers and it's awesome that console buyers pushed back and told them to take their broken game back and stick it up their greedy asses.

Well, no.
In my mind EA and Ubisoft suck because they routinely release garbage games that just arent much fun to play, and also copies of their older games. They show very little innovation, they snatch up smaller developers and then ruin their IP's, and love to advertise themselves as the builders of great worlds.

CDPR said the game ran surprisingly well on PS4 and XB1 to rack up preorders knowing the game was completely broken on those consoles and hiding it until launch. That is a straight up con.

XBox, PSN, and Best Buy are offering refunds.

slow thy hand, sir.

It was a short window from announcement, but up to 11 days after release which, by that time, you'd know if you wanted a refund. Point being--the argument that "anyone who bought a physical copy at any point was screwed!" is completely false.

So, through MS or Sony, or CDPR themselves, all owners of physical copies have/had avenues to get a refund, including through CDPR.

Bottom line is they scammed people on last gen consoles and thought they would get away with it because they put out one good game five years ago. Then they tried to put it on retailers to take the hit instead. This is just a last recourse if the retailer says no so CDPR can try to pretend they're good guys and not scammers.

Where's the source on this?
If you dig around for articles it can be found that they said base consoles run fine. The fact that they didn't send any console review codes out should be a warning in the first place. What they did is messed up for sure.

Whatever happens I just hope management changes there. If it were completely up to the devs they would have delayed it again.
