Can you expand on the offers page? How did you get that? Crap, I got alerts it was in stock for 3 minutes and it kept showing unavailable on the webpage. Same thing 6 minutes later for the digital edition.

My discord alert brought up a webpage with two links — first one to the product page which I tried first to get the unavailable message. The offers page is just a list of sellers and prices with add to cart button and the second link in the alert was a direct link to it. Usually you get to that page on Amazon by clicking on the “x new and y used from $xxx” link on the main product page but pretty sure that button wasn’t there .. hence the direct link from discord alert. Only seller was Amazon direct at msrp.

Invite to server that I used (this was two minutes ahead of Twitter also, just checked. I signed up for Twitter specifically for ps5 alerts, time to shut that pos account down): https://discord.gg/MtBMnx5r

Ugh I have a freaking digital edition in checkout on Best Buy but it keeps telling me I need a verification code it emails me and then when I use the code it sends it tells me the code expired.

They were actually in stock for about 15 minutes since they were a $730 on with Demons Souls + Spiderman + gift card and a $720 one with Sackboy + Spiderman + gift card.

Walmart has a drop at 3:10 apparently if you are still looking.

Tried the 3:00, 3:10, and 3:20 and never even got an add to cart button showing despite continuous F5. Think I'm just going to wait for demand to die down for a month or two before trying again. What a waste of time today.

Shoulda used those links I posted a few pages back that were direct add to cart links. Those gave me success when I couldn't even add to cart from the product page back when I was trying to get em.

Thanks. Never even saw an add to cart button show up though.

Hasn't BB changed their process since then? I was trying to a get a 3060ti (for science!) at launch and they had implemented this new queue system.

Friend of mine snagged a digital PS5 from BB today though, so I know it worked for at least one person

Doesn't matter. The direct add to cart button would work before it was live on the website.

@blckgrffn I'm referring to the Walmart site not BB. I got XSX and PS5 from BB before but it was tough because how wonky their system is.

I copied @KentState and am currently plasti-dipping my PS5. I have almost all coats done and it looks pretty slick. I think I did my coats too thick generally speaking though as I only needed 3, and I think had I done lighter coats like the videoI saw after I did mine, it may have turned out better.

The main issue though I noticed is that when I was spraying some larger drops started to come out and those left some little circles that you can see in the right lighting on the side. Not really a big deal though overall as this is going to sit on the top shelf of my closet anyways. And worst case scenario I could peel it off and redo it.

After this last coat dries, I have to hit the other side of the disc drive though as that is the only place that did not get a direct line of site coat yet, but it's gotten a bit of spray.

I would have gotten a digital from BB today if the 2FA hadn't screwed up. I was in checkout and I could see my store still showing it in stock for ten minutes but every time I clicked Place Order it would ask for a 2FA code, the code would take two minutes to get emailed, and then the site wouldn't accept the freaking code.

Resident Evil 8 demo is out. I just grabbed it but won't be able to play until later since I got some kiddos over. It's just under 4gb.

Glad you took the plunge. It’s not a bad way to change the color since it can be undone unlike paint. What color did you end up using?

I'll have to check out the RE8 demo. Trying to meet tight deadlines at work so I haven't touched the games in over a week. I actually don't mind the white color of the ps5. It sits in my tv stand and doesn't get moved around or stared at much. I'm sure later there will be skins out at some point.

I used whatever the standard black one is. And I think I fucked up the side with the disc drive but will see later on since I put another coat on last night.

When I tried to get the underside of the slot I flipped it 90 degrees to hit the angle. Well that caused some to run down the side and when I wiped it off with a paper towel, that was the start of the downfall. It left some paper towel texture and I tried to paint a coating and see if it would go away but nope it didn't.

I tried one more coat and it went away a bit so I tried another one. Depending how it looks, I may peel it off and just try again.

The other side came out pretty nice though. There are 2 small circles that you can see in the right light angle that are because of large drops coming out of the sprayer but it's not a big deal and hard to see unless lookin for it with the light hitting it right.

I don't really mind it either but it stuck out like a sore thumb in my closet so I figured eh why not give this a go it's $6.

As for RE8 ... man RE8 demo is creepy as shit. That game screams atmosphere especially on a big screen with surround sound. It’s going to be scary as shit if this is how the whole game is.

And shit … if this is for PSVR also, it’s going to be hard to play it because it’ll be so creepy. RE7 on PSVR is one of my all time favorite gaming experiences but the game was legit stressful as shit to play because of how scary it was.

My buddy said the same thing about RE7 on PSVR. I thought the regular version was creepy on its own so I would not want to try it in VR. I actually never finished it either.

As long as it looks good from 5' away, then I wouldn't worry too much.

RE8, at least just the demo, definitely gave me that "stressful" feel and it wasn't even in VR.

@KentState any pointers on how you handled the disc tray hole on your PS5 when spraying with plastidip?

I just peeled mine off one half because of me messing it up yesterday. I plan to try it again today though. Going to get another can of the spray soon because mine is nearly out and it was starting too spray these larger blobs.

First tip is to wipe everything with rubbing alcohol.

After that, I sprayed the entire inside of the bottom panel. I just did a lighter coat spraying side to side with about a 1" overlap between pass. I spray straight down on the panel when doing this. I also do a very light pass for each edge that is facing me. I let the coat dry for 30 minutes and then rotated the panel 90 degrees and did the same spray method.

I also used one of these. Makes it easier to spray without messing with the little nozzle.

What are these called? I tried to find one on HD website but couldn't find one of those.

I did wipe everything with alcohol for sure so I had that taken are of.

The tricky part about the part of the disc hole is that when you are spraying the top, there is a part that is "under" the top where the disc tray hole is. That is the part I tried to spray holding the panel at 90 degrees (instead of flat) and then it caused some to run down the side due to gravity and I guess I sprayed too much.

I sprayed light enough that it wouldn't run, even if I picked it up and rotated it by hand right after. I've screwed up enough stuff in the past that I learned it's better to spray multiple light coats than a few thick ones.

yeah that is definitely my problem then. I will do much lighter coats this go around. Thanks for the pointers.

After redoing the panel with the disc drive slot on it cause I messed it up, it turned out very nice. I almost want to redo the other panel because the way I did this one was much better and you can see the texture of the panel better because I put more coats but thinner. Doubt I'll do that though because it's just sitting in my closet anyways and you won't be able to tell. I'll post some pics once it's all put back together tomorrow.

Thanks for the pointers @KentState I got one of those handle things which made it easier for sure, and then I did thinner coats and literally just sprayed one direction on each coat, instead of going back/forth.
