Yeah I'm trying not to do any of that stuff but we'll see. I only play it like once a week so I'm progressing at a snails pace lol.

While the game is hard, I don't feel it's unfair or anything (at least not yet) so I like the challenge of it.
It's supposed to be one of the easiest souls games. I also enjoy the challenge of it and right now I've been playing more of it because of that walkthrough and mostly because there are no other ps5 games right now.

For some reason I still haven't finished ghosts of tsushima yet. I think part of that is because I get overwhelmed with all the side/discovery quests and I go end up doing those and it makes it tiring by the time I'm done lol.

God, just let it go. It's ridiculous the way you keep wanting to normalize CD Projekt Red's con job on previous gen buyers as if it's just ordinary everyday releasing of an unpolished game. If it was they wouldn't have been shamed into refunding the game. Go call me out in the Cyberpunk thread if you want to keep arguing about this crap.

well, I'm not the one making preposterous, garbage arguments, so I'm not sure why I'm on the hook to "let it go." Let what go, exactly?

Anyway, aren't you a big fan of Nier Automata...a game that basically didn't work for anyone for nearly half a year, and still requires a big fan patch on the PC to get it working for anyone? I mean, it's the reason I still haven't bought it. I hope you went on a crusade to toss those developers in jail, like with CDPR, or did you just forget to?

Cyberpunk works phenomenally well in my world, so obviously I'm going to be biased to well, my experience. That doesn't mean I don't think these guys shouldn't be punished, sued--and they ARE! That's the stupidity of going public: you release broken crap for customers ONLY because you are terrified that your shareholders are going to be pissed; then when you try to please their complete lack of patience, they sue you. lol! (no, that is not an excuse for CDPR; just an observation of the kinda crap you have to deal with when you've decided that shareholders are more important than your actual company)

Sony had a drop this afternoon... looks like it lasted a half hour open too.

Yep, had 3 minutes left to enter the store from the que when the message changed to "sold out". Closest I've been yet. I'll catch one eventually. Plenty of time before Ratchet and Clank releases anyways.

I think I played the game in April or May 2017 and by that time FAR was already out. Apologies if it took that long, I thought it was fixed much sooner by the FAR mod. I thought FAR was out from near the beginning.

Since when did I call for CDPR devs to be in jail? I said I wouldn't shed a tear if the company went under, don't see why that's such a big deal when you're saying you don't like the corporation either. The devs are the talent and could form their own company while freed from the corporate leeches in publishing who wrecked this release.

...I just want the appropriate people to get the appropriate punishment (never happens that way, lol), such that "fairness" is established for everyone, and CDPR can get to work fixing this game for everyone, and, especially, start building on the systems that aren't quite finished, work on the DLC/content...and possibly sequels.

This game is simply too good to be killed by the rage army, lol. It really is an incredibly good game when you get past the buggy bits.

Also, I didn't realize that it wasn't available on current gen? WTF--that actually makes no sense. I don't see why they couldn't have released the PS5/XSXS versions, and just extended a delay for the broken ancient gen versions of the game. So much pain could have been avoided (they could have made this announcement back in ~September, with the last delay update) and, for whatever reason, fear of shareholders forced some chowderheads to make the obviously stupidest decision, and now here they are.

It does run on the current gen consoles but in BC mode. Given that there's like 100M+ PS4 consoles out there, and 0 PS5's when Cyberpunk was supposed to be released, it makes sense that they wouldn't be an actual PS5 version.

They could have done that, but considering the PS5/XSX versions aren't out until like March or April, who knows when that would have put the PS4/X1 "finished" versions out. And putting out last gen games months into the current gen I am guessing isn't something they wanted to do. They also had suits and investors pushing this to come out considering the years of delays it already had.

Agree with above, I greatly enjoy Cyberpunk (along with 13 million other people who appear to be bought the game). Amazing storytelling, excellent , believing characters and make (at least myself) care about them. much better than any garbage that was passing for 'RPG' in the last few years. I play on older PC built 3 years ago (Ryzen 1700 + 1080 TI) and yes I bump into issues where graphics get stuck, really dislike how arcady the driving/racing is, however still very much best game I played in years.. have not tried it on PS4/PS5 as I own neither, have not tried it on XBX since I already bought it on PC.

for PS5, given how hard it is to get it now, makes me really wonder on what the killer app/game is right now. Demon souls (which I have no interest in)? bought XBX for gamepass. will probably get PS5 later if they come up with something similar => access to their collection for reasonable price.

The farthest they will go with it is the 'free' older games offered with Plus, which if you claim it in time you get to keep indefinitely provided you remain a subscriber. There's a PS5 specific collection going on too right now, I think the claim period ends at the end of the year though and you have to have a PS5.

Thank you. I tried to read up how Plus is different form PS Now and how both compare to Gamepass, however without a PS5 (or PS4) this is not yet relevant to me.

There are 0 killer apps for either PS5 of XSX right now.

This coming from someone who owns both of them.

Demon's Souls and Miles Morales are the killer apps. It's actually one of the better launch lineups Playstation has had on any console. Though the really big exclusives will be next year with Horizon Forbidden West (confirmed for 2021) and God of War Ragnarok (rumored for 2021 but not officially confirmed). If you haven't played God of War (2018) it's an unbelievable game, kind of Souls style combat but with more RPG mechanics and a setting reminiscent of Skyrim. Though if you haven't played it, wait for when you have a PS5 so you can play it at 60 fps. It actually runs really cleanly on my PS4 Slim, but still only at 30 fps.

lol, I keep forgetting that this was an April 2020 release (which really does seem, back in 2019, that they had no clue how far behind they were?). I still wonder why, after that initial delay pushed them so close to new console release, that they just didn't optimize the console version in that time to make it a new gen console release--since the PS4 version does seem to "work" relatively well, on PS5, why not just call that version next gen, don't advertise it for PS4/XONE, and just announce that they are going to have to spend some extra time to get that working before an actual release. It's not like current gen has a huge selection of exclusive games anyway. This could have given the consoles a bit more of a halo effect, if imperfect (but not like the consoles are having issues selling out as it is).

I wonder how much of the issues here are related to nVidia sponsorship of the game? Ray Tracing probably won't be working in this for AMD hardware, anywhere, for most of next year already and we already know that this game was generally developed with nVidia's input. Added to the custom AMD implementations only found in the new consoles that you don't find in discreet hardware on PC, it just has to add to the normal list of issues.

what a mess.

Thank you, anything in the RPG or TRPG category (not action-rpg's) ? i.e. I have no interest in Souls or soul like games as combat is probably least interesting part of RPG experience for me (world, party dynamics, dialog, etc). Being proud of button mashing in the right order and right timing - not for me as it does not entertain me long. thinking about dialog/options/choices, caring about characters I encounter (or play) - much more interesting. i.e. I had PS3 before and loved Valkyrie Chronicles (TRPG), played second one on PSP . Anything similar yet on PS5? I will see an eye open for that

Nothing native. But you could play a PS4 game on the PS5.

Here is the entire list of PS4 games:

Only game that caught my eye is Dragon Quest XI. I haven't played it, but Square released an enhanced version earlier this month. It's not an exclusive by any means; looks unsurprisingly like the Switch was the lead platform.

No there are no RPG on PS5 AFAIK other than PS4 RPG. You might really like Persona 5 Royal though (and it really is worth spending the $30 on Royal instead of the $10 the original Persona 5 costs for many reasons, both story and gameplay). Probably my favorite turn-based RPG since Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne in 2004 on PS2 (which has a PC/Switch/PS4 remaster coming out this spring).

(Note: I posted the original Persona 5 review because the Royal review IGN did has too many spoilers IMO, but Royal is absolutely the version of the game to get)

I wouldn't rush to buy a PS5 or PS4 just for it though, because Atlus is hinting about bringing more of their catalogue to PC. They said they were shocked Persona 4 Golden sold so well on PC (which was obvious it would considering tons of people, including me, bought Vitas specifically to play that game). Might be worth dropping $15 right now for P4G in the Steam sale to see if you like the series. Persona 4 Golden isn't nearly as flashy graphically as Persona 5 Royal, but I like the characters and story better. As a matter of fact, P4G has my favorite character ever in any game (namely, Nanako Dojima, your cousin in the game). Also the English voice acting is top notch in addition to the Japanese voice acting if you prefer dubs to subs.

Oops, I forgot the original Persona 5 is also on PS3 if you still have the system. I have played it on both PS3 and PS4 and the differences are basically one is 720p and the other is 1080p and pretty much nothing else. However Persona 5 Royal never came out on PS3.

Thank you. No longer have PS3 (gave it to a friend who was starting life in US (immigration)) . Will look up Persona 5, appreciate the hint

Echoes of Elusive Age? I am playing it now on the PC via Gamepass , it is JRPG and overall nice and uncomplicated (so far).

I got the PS5. I prefer the feel of the Dualshock 4 actually right now, going to continue to use it for PS4 games.

Only game I've tried is TLOU2, still early in it (beginning of Seattle). The loading time is definitely better than the Pro; but they keep loading to a min during regular gameplay anyway so it's not such a big deal.

Yes.
