was the beating 30% of the episode?

Irrelevant to my question. Believe it or not, there are gay mobsters (IIRC one of the members of Henry Hill's (of GoodFellas fame) crew was known as "Frankie the i love you."

how was your question relevant to begin with? what are you getting at?

my complaint....why they need to emphasize he's gay week after week for significant amounts of time......I figured it out when he was blowing the security guard at the construction site last season...the show is becoming more about his gay escapades than anything else relevant.

Less gay vito and more meadow FTW.

dude something huge is coming out of it.

again, it started a beef between phil and tony that wasn't there before this, and they both have different views on how it should be handled which is going to cause another conflict between them. last time phil took what tony could give him just for the benefit of the whole family, even though he was pissed that tony offed his own cousin because he wanted to do it.

remember when everyone thought adriana was giving tony head when they crashed? sure it was a little plot thing when it happened but it lead to a HUGE episode where tony almost killed chris and everyone was thinking tony was gettin head from chris's fiance.

Being gay is, at this point, his defining characteristic, and a major plotline of the show. You seem to feel the characters should just ignore it, even if that would be totally contrary to everything we know about them, just because it would make you less uncomfortable.

I liked the fact that they just didn't have Vito's character commit suicide, I thought that would have been extremely lame after all of the build-up. But, I agree with gigapet, now it seems like they are dragging it out.

yes we know he is gay....showing him on his gay escapades is not developing the plotline between phil and tony. Thats already been established weeks ago that he has been outted as a gay and they dont see eye to eye about it. But frolicking with firefighters did not add value to the plot line. The conversation with phil and tony would have been just as valuable without vito beign in the episode at all.

I guess I don't understand what you expect. That's like saying the two seasons of building tension between Tony and Ralphie (which led to Ralphie's bloody end) were "just dragging it out," or saying that Tony B should have been killed in the first week of last season, so we wouldn't waste a whole season building up his character, only to have him killed later. The show is about just these kinds of things.

It wouldn't bother me too much but this season and the series itself is winding down. And Tony is in "fundamental" agreement with Phil anyway. Watching Vito eat pancakes each week doesn't do a whole lot.

As an aside, what was AJ sniffing?

Wow, a major plot point that nobody mentioned, A.J. had a panic/anxiety attack and passed out just like his dad.

He made the half assed attempt to kill Uncle Jr. because he knew thats what a mobsters son should do.

A.J. is at a crossroads, and even he doesnt know which way he will turn.

When Vito and the Fry cook (volunteer fireman) were fighting I asked my wife "WTFm is this? Foreplay?" looks like Vito was just playing hard to get.............

I think that was blatantly obvious.

I just don't like AJ's character at all. The kid who plays him is the crappiest actor on the show too. They could have gotten someone who can act so much better than him, but I guess it's too late at this point.

I do agree with you there, he was good as the kid but he is not right for what is taking place now.

ok... the only thing that bothers me is that there is no way in Hell that Tony would be
able to pull a girl as hot as Julianna Margolies in real life. It's the typical TV relationship...
overweight, old, ugly guy with hot, younger, lovely woman.

He could if he were a gazillionaire mob boss.

Actually, it happens all the time. Women find money and power extremely attractive.

I've talked to very attractive women who find his character sexy. They say they didn't know how anyone could be attracted to him until they watched a few episodes and were taken by his confidence and power.

Looks are not everything to a woman.

Yep, the whole alpha male thing.

Did nobody pay attention watching Scarface?

This is America, fiorst you get the money, then you get the power...then you get the women.

Great episode tonight. I loved the wine heist. Anyone notice that wine played a role in almost every scene this episode? I thought it was great.

Chris' new girl is hot.

Yes I agree it was good. I liked that they flashed back to the scene between Tony and Christopher concerning Adriana. But there are only 3 episodes left? wtf. It just doesn't seem that this season has been going anywhere. It's kind of meandering around. Sure Vito Jonny Cakes will get capped but there are just too many threads out there.

No, there will be a short season nest year to finish things off...
A dozen episodes for this season, then another eight air early next year.
After that, who knows?
