I hope it gets cheaper or better when I actually build a new computer. It's an awesome heatsink.

Why's the copper base looking like somebody just put a belt sander with 20 grid sand paper on it?

BTW, last I checked, they have 70 in stock. 11:20AM PST.

Im curious, why is everyone praising these heat pipe designs? Are you all running your systems on their side? As I understand it the cooling is suppose to work with gravity, and if the thing is sticking out sidways when your system is standing upright how can they cool? I actually just bought an artic 64 heatpipe cooler, I figured hey the price is right it cant be any worse than stock...well aparently not. I was running 27C idle with the stock cooler and now 31C with this artic freezer (Oh its an FX55 if you want to know [no OC]) at max Id get to like 44C with the stock cooler and with the 64 I hit about 51C. Thats a big difference. And I found that the artic 64 is really cheaply made and doesnt center on the CPU quite right. Are theese just problems with the cooler I purchased? I realize the one you mention is over twice the price. Im wondering if I should go back to the stock cooler...its just such a pain and a waste of my money. Unfortunately the cooler didnt quite fit right and I clipped one of the plastic guards. That was stupid. Now I cant return it. Oh and yeah I thouroghly cleaned the CPU and used some artic silver paste yadda yadda...and I did try the thing on it sisde, it ran close to the stock cooler but then my video card got 5C warmer and my case temp went up a few.

^ You're doing something very wrong if your stocker HSF beats the Arctic Cooling Freezer HSF.

I think the thermaltake is like 50% better than stock hsf, as is the tuniq tower. There are no direct comparisons that I could find. The thermaltake will most likely be quieter, but has a lifespan of like 4 yrs... :disgust:

EDIT: I would jump on this deal... 40 left in stock!

This is the best air cooler on the market people, of course I bet some people would object but with a good fan it beats all.

Given the orrientation of your CPU socket when the Freezer is on and the case is standing, are the heat pipes lining up Front-to-Back(Like =) or Top-to-Bottom(Like ll)?

Any suggestions on what Im doing wrong? Cause Im quite dissapointed. Im not a total n00b, just retarded. Maybe I left the plastic cover on the base lol (no I didnt). And to the other person, the heatpipes are front to back =...should I try rotating it if I can? Ive got some 800grit automotive sandpaper around...should I try cleaning buffing and remounting it? I really hate doing this, my case aint got a removable MOBO tray and with it all in the case I always end up cutting myself and it takes 30 times longer with the fear that Ill break something. I really want this to work though.

Not sure why I got it. I have the zalman 9500 but my mobo is dead anyway. So this will sit for a few weeks until I can piece together a new C2D.
