Really? What places did you check? I know my local Wal-Mart has had a sign up near the entrance/exit for weeks advertising the game in-store for the 16th. And where I'm from, if Wal-Mart has it, then every other store will have it as well.

Ivan prevented any kind of game delivery.
Oh, sorry about that Forgot all about it, although I am getting some decent flooding rains up here in Kentucky right now.

there's an alarm clock in there... it's under small electronics or something.

I bought TS2 a few days ago... it's great I love the character creation tool, but building houses is fun as well.

I haven't actually gone into live mode yet, though. I'm still populating the community... I spent all day yesterday working on my gay family I think I might try and create my real family and have them be neighbors. lol.

Ok installed and started creating Sims.

god! I made some total hottie girls and a guy. That was fun in itself!
I heard you can even make them do the nasty....lol.
Of course you can't see that part, but that is how the Sims get pregnant.

Same sex relationships are possible too.

Awesome graphics on this game. Wow! Unbelievable and worth the wait.

I love the fact that you can establish relationships when creating the family.

that was the weirdest thing the first time I played The Sims 1... I had a mom, dad, and kid, but the mom and dad wouldn't sleep in the same bed, and the kid barely recognized them as anything more than strangers.

I had a lesbian couple that were happily living together even though one of them had two boyfriends. I eventually locked the one without boyfriends into a room with no windows, lights, or doors. She eventually died and a headstone was put in front of the house. The surviving one married one of the boyfriends and never saw the other one again. They couldn't have a baby. One day before she was about to evolve into the next stage in her life, I locked her up in a room. That's when it was revealed that the guy she married was gay as well because his boyfriend started coming over.

This was one dysfunctional group of Sims. . .

You can change the location of the My Documents folder by right clicking on it or using TweakUI from Microsoft - I hadn't moved mine since my last install, so I did it with TweakUI, moved the files under the EA Games folder to the new My Documents folder, and the game picked up on it fine.

Is this game only available on DVD? Or is a CD version available? I don't have a DVD drive...

Also, what is extra on the DVD if it is indeed some "special" version?

The DVD version has behind the scene extras, interviews etc etc.
There is a CD version as well.

The cheapest place to get the sims 2 is www.yesasia.com, use coupon code SFC2004Q3 for $5 off to make the total $35 shipped. I don't know where they ship from, so it could be a while before you get the game if you order it from them.

This game is a lot of fun, but I think I will end up selling it in a week or so. I think it will still hold the same thing that the first one did for me, and that is the "hey, I could be doing this in real life" syndrome. I forcast that I will lose interest in the future.

But if you really like this kind of thing they did a really good job

Do you guys think I'll be able to play the sims 2? I have a p3 933 512mb ram and about to upgrade to a GeForce 1. It was pretty laggy running under a TNT 2 so I was wondering if the upgrade to a geforce 1 will make it playable? What about a GeForce 2? Thanks.

You need a video card with 32mb of ram that is T&L capible. You may need a GF2 for T&L support

Dude, try looking on eBay for some used GF3s, GF4s, Radeon 9600s, something.

I picked up The Sims 2 after work today. I must say the customizations available to both your sims and the households are insane. So far, I've only created one family and moved them into a house. Seems more 'stable' than Sims 1 in the fact that I've had one sim reading a cooking book for so long he's gained 3 cook points in one sitting. Never could do that in Sims1. Also, the needs bars seem to decrease more slowly, giving me more time to mess with them.

I'll need to play it more, but it seems alright so far.

Does anyone have problems with the game not remembering your resolution settings? It keeps jumping back to 800x600@56Hz.

Doesn't have any problems on mine. 1280x1024@60Hz, no issues.

Edit - Doug and Tanya Tinman are doing great. She's an All-star on the Athletic career path, pulls down about 530 a day. Doug stays at home, cooks, cleans, fixes things, and makes friends for Tanya's career.

They got engaged, and married a little while ago. Is there a way to have a wedding at a chapel or something though? I didn't explore the venue, I guess, then got married and kissed in the Rec room. Hehe, they spoon each other when they sleep.
