For me Best Parts of the movie

1. The Entire Covering Fire scene. It was basically a minute of autobots going FIRE!!!! BARREL ROLL!! FIRE!! BARREL ROLL!

2. When Star Scream starts ripping apart the F22's. Not Just shooting them down. Ripping them in Half

3. The Highway Chase, where Optimus Prime transforms speeding down a highway, and starts fighting.

4. The Scene where all the Autobots Transform for the first time

5. Cybertron. You see a autobot crawling p a hill, and BAM Lanced.

Just saw it tonight and enjoyed it a lot. The storyline was pretty good and the cgi was just badass.

what's wrong with the secretary of defense shooting a gun?

Did you expect him to just stand there and watch? similar to Rumsfeld helping out after 9/11. the character just did what at the time was deemed necessary.

the sector 7 guy and the secretary figured frenzy was gonna kill them so they do whatever they and the other two do can to survive.

yeah I'd like to know also.

I'd say 1/4 of the theatre was laughing for.

Yeah the Mutemath (sp?) track? Its horrible. The Stan Bush song was a lot better, although it sounded like it should have been in the 1986 animated movie. At least there was a connection there since he did The Touch and Dare for that movie.

Some of my favorite parts are the first Optimus Prime voice over, and the first time we actually see Prime transform. That really brought back memories of being a child. I'm so glad that Peter Cullen returned for the role of Optimus Prime.

I hated Jazz's "Sup ..." line. It was almost as bad as the "My Bad" line from Prime.

I was actually surprised, but Frenzy ended up being one of my favorite characters from the movie. That little thing provided some good laughs, and actually wasn't a piece of junk that I thought it would end up being.

Cheesyness? What the hell were some of you expecting - Gone with the Wind-type script? It's the friggen Transformers! Hell, even the cartoon was cheesy. I liked it because it didn't pretend to be something it was not. It's a popcorn flick, plain and simple. Some of you need to get off your elitist-movie-going-high-horses.

Wasn't going to go see the movie but a friend invited me and i couldn't say no. Didn't really care for the movie and when it got to the middle i already wanted to leave. I hope part 2 is better. Wish i could get my $9.50 back.

I wouldn't even rate him as John Rambo. He fits in to my answer to your next question.

2) Too much focus on humans. Transformers is about the robots, the humans add spice. In this movie, it was the reverse.
They needed the humans to move the story along. There was barely any plot as there was. Compared to the G1 cartoons though, this was Shakespeare.

The Decepticons needed more developing, I'll give you that. But then, it would have been a 2 and half to 3 hour long movie.

3) Megan Fox was not naked.
I'm sure she will be mostly in the next FHM or whatever.

You might wanna watch the first episode of Transformers.....

Sometimes we all, or at least most of us, need or want a movie that is brainless fun like Live Free or Die hard or Transformers. This is exactly how I expected both of these movies would be and they were! I didn't want them to be like American Beauty. I wanted the movie to be fun! Sometimes we all need a fun movie.

I've watched it several times with my son already recently. This doesn't count seeing it when it originally aired and was re-run on TV.

My wife went to see it last night with a friend and then we all went to go see it again today.

Still trying to figure out what happened to Barricade after the freeway chase. He basically just disappeared and never showed up in the city fight.

Still amazed at how utterly useless the hacker plot is. At least the Sector 7 bits drove the plot some what in terms of the All Spark and Megatron. The whole hacker side with the hot Australian chic and her crew and then Anthony Anderson were so not needed.

I enjoyed it, if only for the special effects. Unfortunately Bay isn't great at directing humans and the plot was pretty sad- still it was a fun ride.

Transformers on target for $150mil in first week

SATURDAY AM: Paramount says PG-13 Transformers made $22.5 million Friday from 4,011 North American theaters and has a new cume of $107.4 million. Box office gurus tell me that, after a record breaking Fourth Of July week opening, the DreamWorks battle of the bots should haul in $60 million this weekend for a 6 1/2-day cume of $150 million. That's 50% more gross receipts than Paramount anticipated, and 20% more than box office gurus predicted. That's also equivalent to the budget of the rock 'em, sock 'em movie without marketing costs. "Word has gotten out to the parents that it's OK to take the kids," a Paramount exec told me Friday. The studio just told me it believes Transformers's first 6 1/2 days of release positions it as one of the biggest non-sequel 7-day openings of all time, alongside Spider-Man 1, The Passion Of The Christ and Harry Potter And The Sorcerer's Stone.

Cinemascope gives Transformers an A with "under 18" and "18 to 24 years olds" giving it an A+. Biggest reason why moviegoers went to see it was "subject matter" (63%) and "type of movie" (35%). Other data have showed a strong nostalgia factor for Transformer toys and toons. Paramount also tells me preliminary exit polling shows that, among general audiences, Transformers is playing strongest with general audiences' older females (Moms) and through the roof with kids (90% of boys say they would definitely recommend) and parents (82% say they would definitely recommend). But the studio says that what is making the big box office difference is not just African Americans flocking to see the film but especially Latino audiences. They attribute this to the casting of Amaury Nolasco, the star of a popular telenovela as well as Fox's Prison Break who in the movie plays ACWO Jorge "Fig" Figueroa. He was recently included in a USA Today list of the 26 guys to watch. Meanwhile, Transformers has smashed one-day records for Tuesday ($27.8M), Wednesday ($29M), and Thursday ($19.1M) as well as for Independence Day. On Monday night, the pic directed by Michael Bay and supervised by Steven Spielberg took in $8.8M.

I give it a solid 'meh'

I really wanted to see more of the transformers.. not some cookie-cutter off the shelf at the discount store plot involving people I don't care about.

But.. it is what it is, the CG really was pretty amazing at times.

at least michael bay has an excuse to blow lots of stuff up this time around.

EDIT: And how did this get up without a poll as to quality? I'd have several polls.

I thought it was a pretty good teen comedy with robots. The least interesting part was all the robot stuff. Typicall Michael Bay. He makes action scenes so loud, so good-looking, and so boring.

while the general RT score went down, the Cream of the Crop section at RT has stayed the same, and sometimes increases by a percentage point too.

as far as good or not for non-fanboys, I'd say it was a terrific action flick.
However, I did read up about Transformers quite a bit on wiki before seeing it, so as to know more about them.

It was definitely enjoyable. I actually prefer it now over Die Hard (Die Hard was a great movie, but Transformers, well.. had the Transformers in it ). I will be seeing Transformers again tonight, and will probably end up seeing Die Hard again sometime in the next week. Got friends who I can get free into the theater, and am taking them to see it.
