Just returned from a 10:00 am showing. Pretty good. Lots better than Die Hard.

Lots of action, but the editing could have been a lot better. Too many jump cuts to drastically different angels. It make you lose your way around in the scene.

The music was so-so. A decent theme here or there and some cool atmospheric elements, but nothing spectacular.

I really enjoyed the movie. I think I may go see it again at the theater that has DLP projectors and compare it against the film version.

According to boxoffice mojo, it's already made 246 million worldwide. Not bad for the first week.

I was in a DLP theater, and I gotta say the movie was hella grainy. I don't know if it was intended or there was something jacked with the projector or what, but some of the close-up face shots of the actors just had WAY too much noise.

Just came back from seeing it and I must say the movie kicked ass. The only problem I found was the whole "glasses" section which was kind of stupid and pointless. I really enjoyed the abundance of bits of humor.

Fans Get to Talk About ?Transformers,? and the Knives Are Unsheathed

By LAURA M. HOLSON
Published: July 9, 2007

LOS ANGELES, June 8 ? Hollywood is a town of talkers, not listeners. That?s why studios handsomely pay consultants to parse the results of focus groups and audience exit polls or eavesdrop on online chat rooms.

Only rarely do the filmmakers themselves talk directly to fans but Don Murphy, one of the producers of the summer blockbuster ?Transformers,? decided to do just that.

Four years ago, Mr. Murphy, a comic-book lover since growing up on Long Island in the 1970s, turned a forum on his personal Web site (donmurphy.net) into a rolling conversation about the movie, which was released on July 2. And much to the delight of some of the fans who posted on the site and engaged with Mr. Murphy, they actually had some influence over changes in the script and casting.

The site would seem to be a perfect example of a modern media company reaching out to potential audience members in a new, interactive conversation. But in an unorthodox twist ? one that might give media companies some pause ? Mr. Murphy?s site quickly became a home not only for fans to debate whether Megatron?s form should be a tank or a gun (he ended up as an alien jet) but a place to vent frustration with the movie?s production as well as with the executives who worked on the film.

Yeah me too. It looked terrible on DLP. Grain was the size of my head. :Q What is very, very disturbing is that this movie is shown in DLP at all of my local theaters but Ratatoule (spelling?) is only shown in film when it's a completely digital movie.

I've seen it twice so far, I'll see it another two times at least.

It gives me flashbacks to my childhood. You know that scene where Megatron transforms in mid air in the middle of the city, and all sounds except the "transforming effect" stops...? Sends shivers up my spine.

Yeah yeah, I'm a damn nerd. I have a red Autobot ball-cap from 7-8 years ago, I'll probably get heckled for it now. That's cool, though. I know I'm awesome.

Did anybody ever watch Beast Wars? I was never really into transformers all that much, but for some reason I loved Beast Wars. I think there is even a 3rd installment of transformers called Beast Machines. I never watched it and heard it wasn't that great.

I wonder if they'll add what happened to Barricade in an extended DVD cut?

1. The Entire Covering Fire scene. It was basically a minute of autobots going FIRE!!!! BARREL ROLL!! FIRE!! BARREL ROLL!

2. When Star Scream starts ripping apart the F22's. Not Just shooting them down. Ripping them in Half

3. The Highway Chase, where Optimus Prime transforms speeding down a highway, and starts fighting.

4. The Scene where all the Autobots Transform for the first time

5. Cybertron. You see a autobot crawling p a hill, and BAM Lanced.

I'd have to say my favourite scene was when Bumblebee was rolling out of the damn with Sam and the cube followed by the army guys. They drive right past Optimus and the others. Prime sees them and does a 180 and starts to follow them. At this point I'm thinking 'God damn. Now it's all the Autobots vs. all the Decepticons. This is going to be intense"

#2 would have to be Starscream vs. F22s. However, that scene was WAY too short.

I like grain. I liked it in this film. It worked well.

I'm assuming that even though this movie was shot on film, that the grain is a post production effect to aid in hiding, obscuring and blending the CGI elements with the live action.

I like how Jazz basically did a breakdance-transform.

IIRC Jazz used to do a similar handspring during his transformation in the old cartoon.

I saw this movie twice during opening week and Die Hard on the day in between. I found Transformers to be more believable than the F35 scene in Die Hard.

Definitely my favorite movie of the year.

I liked it but of course the end left me feeling let down

When he holds up the cube at the end, my friend was saying they shoulda played that one song from the cartoon movie. "You got the touch, you got the power!" Link to the song on youtube That woulda been cheezy but woulda been hella awesome

3 things I loved
1. Can I ride you home?
2. When she's walking away and Bumblebee plays Baby come back
3. Starscream you failed me again

I saw the movie last weekend and it was ok. Nice battle scenes when Autobots transform in mid air and avoid the missles from Megatron.

I wish it has Soundwave instead of Starscream.

Megan is hot, love the way she walked away from the party and bended over the car. Lovely eyes and body.

Here are some more of my thoughts after I read the whole thread:

1. I thought the black cop car was a Charger and not a Mustang? Gotta love the line on the car "To capture and enslave" instead of "To protect and serve"

2. I agree that the Sector 7 was very bad, especially that guy in beret hat and black shirt at the base. The fight between Starscream and the F22 was too short, I didn't realize that Starscream flied into space. I did miss the high pitch whinny voice from the 80s toon Starscream.

3. Didn't not like the "glass" shinny look on these new transformers <on both sides>. Too much blink blink for my taste. Love it when Optimus said "Autobots, roll out", just like it was in the 80s toons.

4. Some of the fights were too fast and too blurry, couldn't see who was fighting who and what was going on.

If there is a sequel, I like to see Soundwave <gotta have the original voice actor and the tape recorder with two big arms>, Grimlock and the gang, the Spaceshuttle <forgot the name>. I will give this movie a grade of B-.

It is a Saleen...which is a variant of the Mustang.

I didn't care for John Turturro trying to chew up the scenes but at least Sector 7 was somewhat central to the plot (AllSpark/Megatron). The hacker side-plot was utterly useless.

Alot of lines were taken from the cartoons. Including the "It's you and me, Megatron" and "Freedom is the right of all sentient beings.
