Why do people always talk about USA like it's going somewhere. USA is not a soccer nation. It buys it's players from other countries. USA will never come close to winning the cup!

Czech and Italy will walk over US. Czech Republic is my favorite Winning Eleven team.
The reality is that it will be a long haul. The large US population and the popularity of soccer at the youth level is a good thing for the development of the game. Unfortunately, there is no high level soccer on the television and coaching is pretty dreadful. With no elite soccer to watch, no glory to attain and very little quality coaching, it will not happen anytime soon.Originally posted by: spherrod

They are becoming a more powerful footballing force each year, so it would be foolish to say they will never win the World Cup. It probably won't happen in the next 2 or 3 tournaments but they will get closer and closer

He's in awesome form at the moment - the goal he scored at the weekend is better than any on that video

edit: Is it really a better goal than the half-volley reverse bender accross the entire penalty box into the far side upper deck @ 1:22 into the video?
If so, EGADS! :Q

Nice goal!
Similar build up to Rooney's goal vs. Newcastle (crossing advance headed back to charging follower and POW!)

Hopefully the Americans don?t try to score a touch down in the world cup
Anyway Tim Howard is a good Goal Keeper, but excuse me whilst I just LMAO, he is no way near the best goal keeper in the world that would be Gianluigi Buffon (to who ever said that).
I must say it is a but worrying, im fine with the midfield and defence, but up front we have Theo Walcott who doesn?t even shave yet and that giraffe Peter Crouch.
