even so, I don't think Italy will want to rely on that. Even if it goes to extra time, Australia can make the Italians use up an awful lot of energy now they have the extra man.

What a BS call! I didn't have any rooting interest in this Italian/Aussie game, but the Aussies got screwed royally by that ridiculous call, the anouncers even tried to make it seem like it was justified, utter BS.

(By the way, I also find it hilariously ironic that Renaldo scored twice as many actual goals as the US team, after Grant Wahl said that Brazil can't win with him on the field. At least Homer Grant now picks an all South American final. Apparently he's learned his lesson.)

Seldom have I seen two teams with such similar strategy and potential than Switzerland and Ukraine. The ref was good, the game had sportmanship (only one yellow card) and only one offside (I don't like that rule). Just the grass was wet and slippery as always The game was really nice apart from Switzerlands' defeat

I hope the Ukrainians won't make it too easy for Italy in the quarter final. :evil:
