That's why they shut down the Live Servers today. Upgrade it so it can handle all this.

I don't know about my hard drive holding all this though. I may end up deleting demos I've had laying around on my 360 for no good reason (Full Auto).

Well my shltbox360 shipped today from MS back to me. Looks like I should have it Monday. So the entire process will have taken about 20 days from when I called them about my 360 breaking until I got it back. Ridiculous ...

Looks like the Shadowrun game is going to be reality. I'm hoping it's going to be a KotOR or Jade Empire -style RPG, like it was on the SNES, and not some stupid FPS. I still shudder at what happened to Vampire: The Masquerade.

I'd also like to see Microsoft do MechWarrior right this generation. Real campaigns, full sets of weaponry (both Clan and Inner Sphere), full sets of mechs, camera support, and a Steel Battalion-esque controller. I'd shell out $200 for the controller and game, no question. I'm sick and tired of this half-way crap where your mech is just FPS armor. Imagine if they had a campaign server where you formed clans (or whatever the Inner Sphere equivalent is) from the other 1000+ players, and then battled it out across a planet (32 players per battle?), and saw the results in real time? That's just too awesome.

Wow that's horrible. I'm glad I have the EBgames warranty now, so I can just swap it out if I have a problem.

On a side note, I downloaded the top spin demo today and those new servers must kick ass because it downloaded crazy fast, compraed to all the other demos I've downloaded in the past.

Well, I certainly don't think we?ll see all these in demo form not even half probably, but demos and trailers alike, best part is MS taking E3 and literally bringing it to the consumer, raising the bar I say.

Umm ... the 360 is doing anything BUT blowing away me at this point. Yah so we'll see some new trailers and probably 2-4 playable demos come out, but aside from those demos, the videos on the marketplace will be widely available on the internet as soon as they are around.

The 360 doens't have any killer games coming out until around when the PS3 launches. I honestly think the 360 is going to be in 3rd place as far as the best showings at e3 this year. I think it's going to go Wii, PS3, then 360.

Only a few more days to find out though.

I don't what kind of expectations you have but, I see nothing from the PS3 that has even made me look twice minus one or two titles and one of those is slated for the 360 anyhow. The titles slated for 360 imo are a sweet lineup of A games. I'm the complete opposite right now, I believe MS will own this E3, PS3 has been so much hype so far and I've seen very little delivered, we shall see in due course. I plan on getting a PS3 only if they deliver on half of what they have said so far, and I?ve yet to see it. Anybody have any idea how many titles will be out on release, I?d venture to say not many more than 10. Wii, who knows. I say 360, Wii, PS3, only because of the record of the PS3 thus far, maybe if they can deliver the goods then it might be 360, PS3, Wii but I have my doubts on that.

I bought Oblivion the other night. Should I dupe 5 million gold and apply the patch or not apply the patch at all? I've been having "can't read disc" problem w/ Oblivion though.

jlmadyson sums it up for me: the PS3 is still MIA, and the Wii hasn't really had anything announced for it. Maybe I'll get excited after the show, but for now, the 360 appears to have the most concrete line-up, and they're actually delivering content to boot.

Shadowrun could quite possibly be the killer app for the 360 - I've had friends who've done a total about-face upon hearing about it.

I couldn't agree more. I haven't seen anything announced for the PS3 that's making me stand up and take notice. I had all three previous gen consoles, as I always seem to do... So, I'm sure I'll get a PS3 eventually too... Just not excited about it at launch, that's for sure.

Pre-E3 2006: Call of Duty 3 Official

World Premiere! Activision confirms new sequel for next-gen consoles.

May 5, 2006 - With E3 headed our way just after the weekend, we knew we had to leave our readers with something promising while they wait for the big show. With that in mind, we've been granted permission from Activision to announce that Call of Duty 3 is headed to next-generation consoles this fall (that's 2006, folks). Here's the official line provided to us by Activision for the announcement:

"Through the eyes of four Allied soldiers, Call of Duty 3 brings players closer to the fury of combat as they fight through the Normandy Breakout, the harrowing offensive that liberated Paris and changed the fate of the world. Developed by Treyarch, Call of Duty 3 is the follow up to the #1 next-generation game and is scheduled for a 2006 release."

So which systems does "next-generation" really mean? According to the end credits of the official trailer, logos for Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo's machines have all been included -- which makes it obvious as to where the game is going.

I called them and they gave me the tracking #. They received it on Tuesday and it was scanned to UPS the tuesday right after, then actually shipped wednesday. I'll get it tomorrow.

I wonder if this thing will upconvert regular DVDs. Hopefully we'll find out this week.
