Not sure which of the college titles are better.

Yeah...I think the issue is what to do with those that still own a Core. They still haven't released larger memory cards yet. Though, I don't see what the hold up is since you can get 1GB and higher PC memory cards/memory sticks for under $20 now.

I think the increase is great. 50mb is pretty restrictive for certain types of games.

I just wish MS would loosen up their control over storage devices and let us use external usb drives.

I am still hoping that Rare will bring Killer Instinct to the XBLA, especially now that the limit has been increased since the HDD image of KI was 133mb. It could work now.

KI with online play = my dream come true.

that would be awesome. When KI came out, we spent the ENTIRE summer playing almost every day. We probably had 5-10 friends over all taking turns. I loved that game!

Yep. Got a 360 hooked up in the living room and the bedroom and use both just for this. Really great for ripping DVD to WMV to watch movies and shows.

just uses a lot of system resources though. it crashes when i have to transcode a .mov to the 360.

Use something like River Past Video Cleaner Pro to convert it to WMV. I've got a 2nd PC that I use to do nothing but convert files and rip DVDs to WMV.

what are some other good programs like this that are free? I tried encode360 but it just randomly crashed for no reason 3 times and I'm done with it.

Yah, I'm a huge fan too.

I actually have KI1 in that cabinet. KI2 was pretty whack, I only got that cabinet cause I found it for one HELL of a deal.

Also, no home versions of KI were even REMOTELY close to the KI1 arcade version, other than KIAME and KI on mame

Does anyone have a sure fire way to connect your pc to the 360? I've had my 360 since December and haven't been able to get the two to see each other. I've tried Zune, MP11, Media Connect, and most recently Tversity.

The 360 will just not see the PC, with the firewall on or off. I'm getting a bit frusterated here.

Did you set up the shares on the PC side when you tried Media Connect?

Follow the instructions on the author's site. It's a pretty young program and seems very picky. I had to uninstall all my codecs (I had the CCCPack installed) and installed the K-Lite Full pack, plus Real/Quicktime Alternative. I also installed the Elecard MPEG2 Streaming plugin as I don't think it will convert properly without it (mostly because of WME).

There's another guide here which uses a batch file process. It works well, but there's more involved with it (need to adjust resolution and cropping for your particular movie's aspect ratio).

^. At least in my experience too, make sure you're wired to the same router your 360 is wired too. I've never gotten it to work when it's not wired (in my experience)

Yup, only once was I able to see the 360 through media connect though. But the 360 woudn't see the PC. Would there be some setting I missed?

I'm just using a wired hub to connect. I can get on line with Live just fine.

\\\\\\\FROM THE HALO3 WEBSITE/////

Greetings Halo® Nation and thanks for your interest in participating in the Halo 3 multiplayer public beta.

The Xbox Live multiplayer public beta, which is a pre-release version of the multiplayer experience of Halo 3, is scheduled for availability in spring 2007 exclusively on Xbox 360. This beta also represents an opportunity for gamers to give information that will help in the development of Halo 3. Through the resulting feedback, Bungie Studios will be able to further refine and hone the end result of the game.

Phase one registration is now closed. If you have been selected to participate, congratulations and stay tuned for an email notification on the week of January 22-26, 2007.

For those of you that didn't make it in - fret not as this phase one was just the first of three ways to secure an invite to participate in the development of Halo 3. The next two paths of entry are the following:
- Qualifying over Xbox Live via the "Rule of Three" program in early February
- Purchasing marked packages of the upcoming game Crackdown?, which hits store shelves in the U.S. on Feb. 20

Details of both of these programs are provided below.

Rule of Three Program
The "Rule of Three" program is currently planned for gamers (17 years and older) in the 50 United States (includes District of Columbia) and Canada who have access to an Xbox 360 Pro console or an Xbox 360 Core console with hard drive, a valid Xbox Live Gold subscription and the Halo 2 game.

It is a two-step process:
1. Participate in at least three hours of Halo 2 multiplayer sessions on your Xbox 360 console via Xbox Live during the three (3) day period beginning February 1st at 12:01 am EST and ending February 3rd at 11:59 pm EST.
2. After the three day window is over, head back over to www.halo3.com on February 5th and register.

If you are one of the FIRST 13,333 to do this (and meet the above requirements) you will receive an invite notification in February to participate in the Halo 3 Beta.

Please note that if you registered to participate in the Halo 3 Beta during Phase One and were not selected, that does not preclude you from registering again for during Phase 2.

Crackdown
When Crackdown hits store shelves (Feb 20 - North America, Feb 22 - Asian territories, Feb 24 - European markets), and you still haven't secured a place in the Halo 3 multiplayer public beta you can still get in via specially marked boxes of Crackdown. These boxes of Crackdown include an invite to participate in the coveted Halo 3 multiplayer beta program when it becomes available. When the Halo 3 multiplayer beta surfaces in spring 2007, those owners of Crackdown that have access to an Xbox 360 Pro console or an Xbox 360 Core console with hard drive and a valid Xbox Live Gold subscription simply need to load their copy of Crackdown into Xbox 360 and use the disc as a key to download the beta from Xbox Live Marketplace and join the battle in Halo 3 multiplayer.

Hopefully this information provides some additional clarity. See you online!

*Limit one registration / Halo 3 beta invite per person and Xbox Live gamertag. Your invitation is non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash. The Halo 3 beta is available in English only.
