Man, I can't beat the final boss, the RAAM guy, on GOW. I read a walkthrough online saying to use that gernade bow-and-arrow thingy, but my last savepoint only has the sniper gun, the gun with the chainsaw on it, and a couple of gernades. Any tips?

I beat him on Hardcore by myself and all I used was the sniper rifle. On Insane I was plaing co-op and my friend was using the sniper and I used the torque bow.

Make sure you don't try to hit him while he's got the kryll around him. You can only hit him when the kryll are flying around. Just hit him with headshots too and try to get active reloads. I start out back behind that main area right through the train door, and I didn't make a run tot he other side until he was literally right next to me. Make sure you stay in the lit areas too or else you will be eaten by the Kryll. Also, don't worry about the flying dudes on the sides of the train. I didn't kill them at all on insane or hardcore.

What part are you having the most trouble with exactly?

Yeah, I tried a bunch of different weapons...including the mounted gun...on Raam and couldn't beat him. It wasn't until I started doing sniper rifle head shots with active reload that I was able to take him down. That is by far the easiest way.

And don't worry about Dom in single-player. He's going to be toast regardless and really doesn't do much to help take Raam down.

LOL I still, to this day, haven't noticed the mounted gun. I was talking to a friend about this the other day and I told him I didn't even know there was one at the last boss

Yeah but it's not in the light, so you die pretty quick if you can make it to it

I beat RAAM with the torque bow. I'm under the impression the bow can penetrate the kryll shield, but is the only weapon that can. I fired off a bunch of head shots while he was far a way with kryll around. YMMV of course, but that's how I did it.

Most likely that is because of how threads are stored in the DB and the subsequent programming used to pull up the long threads.

I'm at the exact spot...but I've only had about 3-4 goes at it. Haven't had time at home to play since then...hopefully I'll get a chance in the next day or so. I hate to end the game...looking forward to GOW2!

Have you beat it at all yet? Playing it again on Insane is a heck of a lot of fun. After beating it on hardcore, I enjoyed the game even more on insane.

It's been like that for a long, long time. My work computer has a slow enough network connection as it is.

It takes 6 head shots with the sniper to beat him. I used nades and the torque bow to get the kryll away from him.

You can get full ammo before you go in to fight RAAM. There is a bow and sniper rifle in the room before you open the doors to fight him. Pick up the ammo, then wait 30 seconds and the ammo will re-appear.

I'm on my first run through on Hardcore (never played at the lower setting). I'm sure I'll play it through again on Insane...but I have to give some other games some due time...especially Lost Planet.

Whoohoo, beat GOW! I lucked out about the 4th time, RAAM got stuck walking over Dom's body, so I just kept sniping him. Not sure how many hits exactly, but it did the trick. Thankies!

So, what are you we doing tomorrow?

I swear I had hit him with that many...but maybe they weren't all headshots even though I thought they were.

ROFL!! I never saw it in that little corner...blends in pretty nicely when you're walking past it. hahahaha, thanks

He probably beat it on Casual if it only took 6 headshots. I didn't play the game through on casual, but I did go back and try it out after I beat it on insane, and it's so ridiculously easy to kill guys because they have such little health.

I know for a fact it is more than 6 headshots on Hardcore cause I used almost all of my ammo before it killed him.

On Insane it's even more, because my friend was headshotting him with the sniper while I was headshotting him with the torque bow.

Crackdown isn't so damn bad! Its nothing special gameplay wise, the graphics and sounds are fine and the control was easy to grasp but all in all its a smooth playing exaggerated gta/saints row type of game. Pretty fun just jumping around shooting stuff and I could see the game being pretty fun online with lots of players all over the screen shooting and jumping around. I'll wait for reviews and if they are positive then I'll get it at a reduced price (say $40 or less).

I pretty much have no idea what you just said!

Cool. ok..I'll say it another way. The Crackdown demo is pretty good and exceeded my expectations. Is that better?

Is there anything coming out besides Crackdown next month worth talking about?? I'm waiting for MLB 2K7 (god I hope its good) but that comes out in March.

I think Winning Eleven is coming out next month. I didn't get a chance to play any of the older soccer games so I might give it a try.

Wow, just played crackdown until the demo time expired. I LOVE this game so far. I don't know what it is, but I was disappointed when the clock ran out.

It's just fun to build up your strength/jumping agility and jump from building to building and kick the hell out of gang members.

Pretty neat also to be able to pick up cars/gas tanks/gang members and launch them pretty far

I definitely will be buying this game!

How do you build up jumping? Is it just by finding the hidden upgrades, or can you do it by fighting/whatnot (like shooting, strength, etc)?

So far I am liking this game a lot.

Yep all over the buildings you will see agility orbs (green ones)

When you get enough, you'll "rank up" and get a star beside agility. I almost had 4 stars beside my agility. you end up being able to jump 10 feet, 15, 20, 25, 30. I only got to 25 feet but it was pretty neat.
You get firearm/strength from fighting/shooting

oh god crackdown is so god awful!! i immediately deleted the demo off my HDD.

the game is just so generic and not presented in a good fashion. the control is horrible, and lock-on aim is terrible, the cars control like crap, everything is glowing, the graphics aren't as good in the demo as the vids they showed months ago, the hand to hand combat is a joke ... there wasn't one thing good I could say about this demo.

saints row is 100x better than this piece of crap. they are lucky that h3 beta is coming with the game, cause otherwise people wouldn't want this pile of crap.

Sorry purbeast, but I also think Crackdown is pretty freaking awesome. I was completely blindsided at how fun it was.

The best thing ever is the system used to target particular body parts and parts of vehicles. It's so intuitive, I'm surprised it's not been done yet. Locking on to an enemy automatically targets his torso, you can flick up on the right analog to target his head, although it takes a few extra seconds to lock on. Same with flicking down to take out their legs, or left or right for the arms. With vehicles, you can flick down to target the wheels, and it's an easy one shot to take out a vehicle. You can flick the stick up to target the person in the car, although I've found that apparently shooting through the window at the person takes about 4 or 5 clips of ammo for some reason.

I was messing around with targeting the wheels on random passing cars tonight, and one instance was pretty awesome. A porche-type car sped past, so I quickly targeted it on the driver's side, and shot out the back wheel. In a split-second, it started to spin around, in which time I was able to target and shoot out the front wheel on the same side. Since the momentum of the car was great, the passenger side rose into the air and the car flipped over. Just for good measure, I shot out another wheel on it's way to flipping onto the hood.

Looks like I may be getting this game, and the Halo 3 beta is icing on the cake.

The aiming is one thing I forgot to mention that I love as well. I think this game will be much better than saint's row. I think the graphics are pretty cool, too.

I also had a blast running up to cars when I had maxxed out my strength and kicking them across the road I like the idea of a character with super powers and machine guns, what could be better? I can't say how long I"ve replayed the demo and had a blast just finding new ways to scale the sides of buildings.

Well, here's another vote for Crackdown. I'm not sure what you're expecting, purbeast0, but Crackdown is fantastic. That was the most fun I've had with a game of that type since Mercenaries. I thought the control was great, the lock-on system worked very well, and I LOVED the whole super agility aspect. I felt like Spiderman (minus the webs) running around the city. At this point I don't even give a ****** about the Halo 3 multiplayer beta, I just want to play Crackdown. Just going by the demo, I think the Crackdown would have done well even without the beta invite pack-in. I think a lot of people who buy the game just to get the Halo 3 beta are going to be pleasantly surprised how fun Crackdown actually is.

You also can increase your agility by getting as high as you can and taking out gang members way below. I found this out inadvertently when I jumped on top of a water tower that was about 5 or 6 stories up and started sniping gang members down on the street.

Count me in as another vote for Crackdown. It isn't perfect but it is a blast to play.

There was actually a system sort of like that in Everything or Nothing. You hit the trigger to lock on, then use the thumbstick to move a small dot around the "lock on" area to target individual body parts. It didn't lock on to them like it does in Crackdown, you had to keep holding the thumbstick. It worked really well.

Everything or Nothing was overlooked by a lot of people because every Bond game until then (save Goldeneye) had been crap. Everything or Nothing is easily the best Bond game behind Goldeneye.
