Looks like the early GRAW previews are pointing in the "this game is all that and a bag of chips" direction, which is good - pushes the 360 more heavily into online co-op, which puts it way ahead of every other console. I really think the "integrate Live into every game" push is starting to see some benefits.
I've been playing a lot of PGR 3 solo lately (gotta renew my Gold membership, oops), and it's by far the best racing experience I've had on any platform (including the Gran Turismo games). The physics are clean and (somewhat) realistic, the control is tight, the graphics and sound are great, and the online component is sweet - I can actually say with certainty that I'm in the top 70,000 players, rather than wondering if I'm going to get utterly schooled the moment I step online. The learning curve also scales much, much better than what I'm used to - while I can't go from a suped-up Honda to an F50 GT and drive all that well, I can step from an F40 to an F50 and acclimate pretty quickly.
It's replaced DOA 4 in my playing schedule lately, and that was a system seller for me. Who'd have thunk?

years back I made a joystick for PSX w/actualy happ arcade parts. I made a box w/the buttons on em and then soldered the inside of a psx controller to the button pins and it worked out great.
what I plan on doing now is taking my SF:AC joystick (for xbox1), opening it, and soldering the inside of the 360 controller to it so that it'll work on boxh 360 and xbox. I'll let you all know how the process goes. It'll be the BEST thing if this works so that I am not stuck w/the DOA4 joystick or the D-pad for SF2 when it comes out.

I'm pretty interested in seeing if they do anything with Paperboy that will make it worth a purchase, as that was one of my favorite games as a youngin'.
Also, some Gamespot GR:AW co-op impressions. Co-op is one of the main reasons I'm thinking about plopping down a pre-order on this game for next week's release. I'm going to hold out for some reviews though, which unfortunately may not come till a couple of days within release. GRAW just went gold today or yesterday (can't remember). With it going gold just little over a week before release, it makes me wonder how many copies will be available for purchase intially. Normally, games are gold 2 weeks before release to give time for mass production and shipment of copies.
I don't have the full game, but I did find it to be true in the demo. My guess is that you're supposed to be trying to get better using the stick to punch - and once you do that, blocking comes naturally.Originally posted by: PaulNEPats
Is it just me or is blocking a pain in the ass in FNR3?
Douglas Perry, editor at IGN, announced on the IGN boards that he is going to be doing a very special announcement today about a game we ?would never, ever have expected.?
In his first post he writes:
Check back in the early afternoon PST for an exclusive story on a game you would never, ever have expected. IGN Xbox 360 will have the first details, news, screens, and an interview with the company?s president. Can you guess who it?s with?
No Doug, we?re no psychics so we cannot guess who it?s with. Please tell us more! Which he does:
OK, so? just for clarification, we?re hoping to post a story around noon tomorrow, maybe earlier ? that?s PST time (California time) that nobody has heard about. It will be on the Xbox 360 site. It?s an exclusive Xbox 360 game. None of your guesses are correct so far. I was totally unable to guess what it was until I heard about it two days ago, and I?m still amazed by the subject matter and the people putting it out. Sorry to be such a tease about it, but I haven?t even told my team about it yet. I can?t say a word.
Anyway, I expect the range of reactions to be wide in range and long in wind. Heh. And, in order to avoid the mess that happened last fall with a certain midnight review that never happened ( ), let me put it this way: Don?t stay up all night. Please do not. The story won?t be up until tomorrow ? Friday, March 3, around noon PST at the earliest. Go to sleep, do whatever, beat people up in Fight Night Round and then gather round here about noon-ish. I should have an update on the exact timing earlier than that, but not everything is tied up tight. There are still a few loose ends before I can concretely give an exact time.
Until then I look forward to your guesses. This should be fun.
Damn, more empty blahblah and no information. Well, speculation and rumors galore: what exclusive game we would never have expected is Doug going to be showing, and what company will be releasing it? Will he be interviewing Bungie?s CEO about Halo 3?s impending release? Or will it be something far more realistic? Feel free to come speculate with us in the comments below or on our forums.

I could see it being that, because he said it's a game we would never ever have expected. And Rare explicitly said (years ago) there will NOT be a KI3, and also, Rare is supposedly working on 2 secret projects right now.
so I am praying its KI3.

I heard it was a remake of E.T.
