At Fry's for this week yes. The normal price is $40.

They also have Madden06, FIFA06, Burnout:Revenge and NBA Live 06 for $30. Outpost.com Link

edit: Looks like the $29.99 deal is going to be good through next Tuesday now.

shltbox360 is a POS. mine froze 3 times while trying to watch a movie last night. and keep in mind, this is my "new" one after my launch one broke.

i've probably played it 7 times or so since I got it back around when E3 was, and it's already given me more problems than my launch one. i'm fed up with the POS. if it breaks agin and they dont give me a new one for free, i'm raising hell. it's just unnaceptable.

not to mention every damn game is getting delayed and there is nothing to look forward to until around october or november. and wtf ... where is SF2 that was promised first Q of 06?

Xbox Live's Spring Update: Eaaaasy, Big Fella
So we're all really excited about the next update to the Xbox Live, and Xbox Live Marketplace. But hey, we're not ready to share specifics or details about it As such, posts related to this update were done prematurely, and I apologize - from nearby the bottom of my heart - for any confusion this may have caused.

Stay tuned for more detailed information about this in the coming week.

Wow - that's a bummer. Does it have adequate ventilation? Do you have old/inconsistent electrical in your house?

Time to throw in the towel perhaps, say the hell with it and be done with it. I've yet to have any serious problems with my launch day 360, a couple of minor lockups, knock on wood. I'm looking forward to a few games this summer, Prey most certain. I really couldn't care less when SF2 arrives I just hope when it does they have ironed out the bugs.

I've yet to try the demo. How is the game play? Not too concerned about the graphics side as long as it has some good game play/storyline. Was planning on picking this one up.

Who here uses Gamefly? I decided to give it a whirl but I've heard they're pretty slow for turnaround time for people on the East Coast.

I use gameznflix.com, and have been happy with them. I've always heard Gamefly only has a distribution warehouse on the west coast, where gameznflix has 4 across the country. Only one game I rented failed to show up within 2 to 3 days.

New Backward Compatibility Update Soon
Lots of talk about backwards compatibility online today. We wanted to get to the bottom of it all, so we went right to the team working on the next back compat update. We hear directly from them that they're in the testing phase of another update, and it should be out in the next few weeks. We saw the list they're testing, and it looks like they're hoping to add at least a dozen titles.

Long before the launch, we thought we might hit a few dozen titles, and we all feel pretty good about the list of well over 200 titles on the back compat list today, including many of the games that you?ve asked for. You all have heard us say the work isn't simple. Many games did unique things to take advantage of the processing power of the Xbox, and that makes it difficult to emulate, especially when we then have to make new code work with existing (and future) compatible titles.

But rest assured, we're not done yet.

We know for a fact that there are lots of people who continue to care about backwards compatibility, including the "Emulation Ninjas" who are working full time on the updates. And those of us posting on this blog. And, of course, many of you.

Stay tuned for more information about the upcoming update?

Spring Update Hits Tuesday

I am happy to inform you that the highly-anticipated Xbox 360 Dashboard update will be released tomorrow morning beginning at 0200 PT (See what time this is in your time zone.) This free update contains some of your top requested features including background downloading, boot to dash and others for a total of over 125 new features and enhancements. Read more details from the press release on Xbox.com or see the complete list of features here. Xbox.com's Elle also has this story on the update.

While the update is being released at 0200 PT not everyone will receive it immediately. It can take up to four hours for a user to be prompted to receive this update, so please be patient. There is no way to speed up the process, every Xbox 360 will receive the prompt to upgrade sometime between 0200 and 0600 (or the next time you sign in to Xbox Live.)

Spring Update is here. I'm reading that the DVD Playback looks way better, and I guess it's upscaled if you are using VGA. So far I'm only reading good things.

Don't think so. Here is all it says about DVD playback:
SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS

DVD Player

* Improved audio/video sync after extended pauses
* Improved visual quality
* DVD player outputs at native resolution over VGA connection
* Improved playback smoothness
* Improved fast-forward and rewind smoothness
* DVD play continues to attempt to read a disc after ?disc read? error
* DVD play à Pause à Play jitter / out of synch issues improved
* DVD play à Slow Play à Play jitter / out of synch issues improved
* Repaired issues with missing menu selection icon from DVD disc menu for certain films
* Improved Xbox 360 Guide efficiency during certain films
* Repaired playback stutter during certain films

Not sure if that is upscaling. Plus, I recall one of the developers saying they hoped to make upscaling a part of the Fall update.

What cables are you using? If its the component one then you're gonna probably have to buy an adapter unless your computer has optical or RCA in. If you're using the VGA cable, I was thinking that it comes with a cable to plug into your computer, although I'm not really sure.

FYI - The patch for Oblivion is coming out tomorrow so hit up Dorian now for as much as you can.

My 4-year old son took my Oblivion disc out of the Xbox so he could play Kameo. Now I can't find the Oblivion disc. I haven't disowned him........yet.
