On the 360: plug it in via USB.Originally posted by: gizbug
What are my options to get my ZUNE HD to play on my xbox360 and my home stereo system? Just want to play the music upstairs.

An actual volume control would be nice, but the side button needs to stay unless they add full play control in button form. If it weren't for that button bringing up the popup play control, it would be a HUGE pain in the ass to change tracks and I would despise it.
A cell phone style volume rocker would be a nice touch though. That was one thing that aggrevated me with my Zune16 - you can't (that I could figure out) change the volume before hitting the play button. When I use my Zune in the car, I have the volume up all the way and use the car controls for volume. When I use it with headphones....uh, that's really loud.

Simply hit the button to get to the now playing screen, and swipe left or right to skip next or back.
If you use the lock screen all you have to do is swipe up to unlock, then swipe left or right for tracks.
But yes, I would like a rocker with middle press. But I don't mind it the way it is either, I really like the UI.

On the home stereo: either get a dock and use that, or just use a male-to-male stereo minijack (with appropriate RCA stereo adapter, if needed) from the headphone jack to your receiver. The dock should sound better, since the line-out is unamplified (versus the headphones jack, which is).

Zune HD Car Pack. Anyone else have one of these?
Wow. Nothing but static when trying to listen to music. The auto-search is terrible on the unit. My old ipod car adapter, A griffen, could play music without any static at all, and costed 1/2 of what this accessory for the Zune HD costs. Might end up taking it back to Best Buy. I literally have to hold the ZUNE HD, up in the middle of the car, to get crystal clear sound. Anywhere near the stereo deck or on the dash in the car, just terrible.
Anyone else have issues with this? Shame MS charges $80 for this thing.

Does anyone else get staticy audio while charging their Zune? Whenever I try to charge and listen in my car (car charger and 3.5mm jack to the car stereo) I get about half static, half music.

I get similar on my iPod, a high pitched whine sometimes, I am pretty sure that it has something to do with my alternator being too wimpy.
As for the static... it might be.. i don't know... poor shielding on the power line that is somehow... you know... interfering? I spent 2 years studying Electrical Engineering, but switched programs before I actually got to any Electrical stuff.
Really? What happened? I've never had issues with it.I am not happy with the amount of errors I have had just trying to get/install the software....
