Old Laptop LCD -> Multiple Monitor Setup?

People are selling laptop LCD's (just the lcd/laptop lid unit) on ebay etc, and I was wondering if there's some way to rewire these and add them to my desktop computer as a second display? If so, what would I need? Are there any existing articles etc describing how to go about doing this?

Nope. No way to do it. Laptop LCDs have proprietary interfaces. While you "could" in theory reverse-engineer the interface, in practice I have never seen it done. And I have seen many people try. The manufacturers don't make the interface specs available to the public. Or even their service centers.

the controller is on the motherboard. you might be able to rewire it if you can figure how to power it, most of them are probably dvi like.
