Im doing some upgrades for a Well Drilling company, just wanted your guys opinion on something. One of there machine is a Compaq that has an AMD K6 233 ... do you think it takes SDRAM or 72 pin ?
K6 233...probably only 72 pin simms. EDO. it might have one DIMM but it is probably the old 5 volt type...not the new 3.3 volt stuff. best thing to do is open it up and take a look.
My guess is that it could be either. I have a P233 that uses SDRAM, your typical 3.3volt stuff. So if you can check first I would do that before you buy anything. Or try to find out what motherboard it is using, that could help you also.
Why guess and take the risk of ordering the wrong parts? Open one up and see for yourself what it takes! Or at least look up the model number to see the specs. If you can't find it at Compaq, although I usually can find halfway recent system specs there, some memory websites (like crucial) let you pick make/model and will tell you what it takes.
See I didn't have time today to check and I have some 72 pin laying around, I just thought maybe ya know, I think I will wait and take a peek just to be sure, I hope its SD though cause it needs all the help it can get !
