Had a idea to boost my XSPC x2o 750 v4 flow/pressure with a maxi jet 900 aquarium pump I had laying around. I don't have the budget right now for a legitimate pc cooling pump, so I was hoping to maybe get a bit of a boost in performance from this "free" upgrade. My system will be raystorm block, 2 240mm radiators, ek 290 full cover block. I know from what I have read, that the x2o 750 v4 could handle this ok, but I am always looking for a little bit extra.

If it wasn't clear from the title of thread, this pump would be in addition to the stock XSPC X2O 750 pump, ran in series.

So what are your thoughts on this? Would it actually improve pressure or flow? Would it simply create more restriction in the flow path? Are there any problems it might create?

Do you have a picture of the pump? The images that I could find aren't consistent on what it actually looks like.

I think it wouldn't be advisable to do so since there are aquarium pumps that are submerged, which helps with the cooling of the pump unit. It would work outside but it might affect the longevity of the pump.

I think its better to just get a new pump, saving the hassle of rebuilding the loop if the pump you've mentioned breaks. EK DCP 4.0 or similar don't cost that much.

It looks usable but bear in mind that it won't be the most convenient setup since the pump runs on AC and the PSU will only supply DC. It might be troublesome since the pump will still run (could be good or bad thing, depends) even if the PC is turned off.

You might want to spend a little more on worm drive clamps as well since the pump inlet/outlet isn't flanged and seems likely that the tube might just slip off.
