Meh... millions might be popping out a couple of veins in excitement about that, but to me it ain't that so. I mean... WarCraft, that'll make another fantasy movie with Orcs and Elfs and Humans, and based on a game... I can already hear the complaints from the future about how not true to the lore the movie was, history repeating itself. No? It may well end up being the biggest success for a movie based on a video game to date, or the complete opposite, time will tell, I guess.

I could really dig a Warcraft based movie esp if it was animated but there is too much room for failure given the track record of games turned into movies. If they get it right the first time though I could forsee a nice set of movies for the franchise. Hell I would also love to see a diablo series of animated movies.

I'm sure the movie will have none of that, but the audience will be full of it.

Nowhere does it say this will be based on WoW timeline. I imagine it would make sense to do the movie on warcraft 1. Even better, movie about the blackrock mountain battle.

I have faith in Raimi. The majority of his movies are pretty kick ass, which is better than you can say for most, and Army of Darkness more than makes up for the bad ones. A movie about the Orc invasions of Azeroth could possibly be pretty cool. "Why do you keep touching me?"

yea I agree with you on this. It says based on the Warcraft series. Not just on WoW. Doing a movie about the first Orc invasion etc would make sense/set them up for sequels and give them an easy opportunity to introduce people to the story.

I just hope it doesn't end up sucking as hard as Rami's adaptation of the Sword of Truth series. Whoever though it was a good idea to completely destroy the entire time-line and characters for that "Legend of the Seeker" show is a retard.
