OMX's closing in your area?

The other day I picked up an Iomega 8X4X32 off of their clearance table for $25. I went back to day to see if there was anything new. They had signs on every window pane saying that they are having a store closing sale and everything must go. They were taping the manual and accessories to all of their display items and put yellow tags on everything. Most of the prices were the same as usual.
I talked to the clerk and she told me that 46 of their stores are closing their doors for good. Prices were to drop gradually over a 10 week period. I didn't find any deals today but I'll keep checking back with them to see how well they're progressing.

Is it just me or are all the major stores closing down. It think its the PRICE MATCHING and these kinds of forums that really hurt them hehe i personally dont care as long as i get a good deal.

Which store was yours? Never knew you owned an Office Max store. I'll let you in on a secret, It's shuttin' down!
This is what, my second or third post and I already got someone talking smack. Kinda like fishing, sooner or later something's going to bite.
I just tried to let people know what's going on with some of the stores and NeoV can back me with his lists.
Do I need to post some photos of my receipt or your store front to prove that I'm not lying?

Dammit, their closing Salem, NH. It was only there 2 years. With staples across the street, I guess that wasn't a good location. BTW anyone know what happens to the Gateway employees in the closing OM stores?

The specified Gateway employees are supposed to be hired and paid for via Gateway, not OMX. What happens to those employees is up to Gateway.

It's only when people try to take advantage of an error that really hurts the stores. (ie, a price error, and some dumb $hit sues them because they're a big cry baby about it) If price matching hurts those stores then they wouldn't have price matching.

i think I know why they are going out of business. I went by today to their &quot;Going Out of Business Sale&quot; and their sale prices are more expensive than OD normal prices. No hot deals in Baton Rouge.

I am from Wichita Falls, I lived there until I moved to Fargo. I bought many an item in that OM. Too bad its closing, but that store never had much business in it. At least the Fargo store is not closing

good place to post as any that an om guy last nite (the one @ perimeter, memphis/tn that does not have any plam sevens) told me that because om knows a lot of people are getting &quot;that tax return money&quot;, they are trying to clear out as much non-revenue producing products asap

Wow...I can't believe the Kenner/New Orleans OMX is closing. They just moved into the NO area about a year ago, but they opened 3 stores pretty close to each other, and right next to 3 Office Depots. Oh well, I never go to the closing location, but I'll scope it out for deals. Thanx NeoV!
